Will We Ever Get Our Number 1 Receiver In A Draft?

Gettleman would have been retarded if he didn't grab Star in the first. His second and fourth round picks are what's up for debate.

No issue with that. The past is the past, just looking towards the future now. He just has to get it right with this draft too, its a lot of talent in there.

We were too busy trying to make a D2 guard a tackle. I said that Alshon was the best WR in that draft but people disagreed with me. I don't even feel like I saying I told you so. Said the same thing with Keenan Allen and Deandre Hopkins.

Y'all will learn to listen to me. I'll give you two more names we'll regret passing on: Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans.

it would have been outlandishly stupid to pass on lotulelei for deandre hopkins which iirc was something you endorsed.

also lol if you think either watkins or evans will be doing anything but wearing hats for other teams by the time our pick comes up

I would love to have a great WR for Cam. Alshon is the prototype of what Cam needs. But it's a little too easy to sit there and say "Keenan Allen, Alshon Jefferey" because there are far more examples of flops like AJ Jenkins, Justin Blackmon, Stephen Hill, Mohamed Sanu.

If we don't use high draft picks at WR on players that have the potential then what? Are we going to continue to reach on project players, hoping we find another Smith?

the best part of this is that most you who didn't want him are now doing the same thing to Clowney

"zomg dumb GameCOCK ha hahahah fans!! an ESPN rpeort came out, said he hates football just wantz teh cash! prolly fall to 6th STOP WANTING THESE PLAYERS U DUM HOMERS DEY IS SUK GO HEELS GO!!!"

i motion that the lot of you who were too retarded to acknowledge his talent because of your idiotic biases make a concentrated effort to evaluate players by their talent this offseason.

Barner was a pretty awful pick as well. I don't know if the kid can ball or not in the NFL, but right now we don't need him. A pick like Barner's should have been made in this years draft or next. Right now our backfield is just too crowded, and with the current contracts no way to trim it down.

No I agree, draft a WR. But don't come up in this thread with the "i told you so" I wanted Justin Blackmon if the chips had fallen right. I was dead wrong.

Let me ask this question.  Which receiver should we draft out of this receiving group if they were the only ones available?  Allen Robison, Jordan Matthews, or Donte Moncrief?  For me, out of that group, it would either be Robison or Matthews, may give Matthews the slight edge.

Hell, Rogers went undrafted.  All we had to do was pick up the phone and say, "Hey man, you wanna come down to Charlotte and play some football?  We'll pay you and everything!  You can play with one of the best young QBs in the game and learn your craft from a great one in Steve Smith.  Sold?  Alright, cool.  See ya Monday morning."
