Can't Believe I'm Posting This, But Ron Rivera...

I was extremely upset that we did not go for it on fourth down. We were very lucky that the saints did not attempt a pass on their last third down

He talked about this on the radio afterwards and the way the 2:00 warning and timeouts worked he thought he could get the ball back with 1:40 left. The warning happened to soon (if you get me) and they got it back with 1:00 left.

Same. Was so disgusted I tossed the remote in the air lol

Good thing they gave up on getting a first down and icing it combined with the fact our D is NASTY.

I was very surprised they didn't throw it. They played to win for 58 minutes, why change it up then.

Just another example of how much this league has changed. A minute is way too much time to give an offense to march down the field.

Why would the aints even think about a pass in that situation? C'mon man.

They did all they could do to milk the clock. Left us with less than a minute. They had to think that they were in the driver seat after the way their D played us all game.

We did what they thought we couldn't. Go 70 yards with no TOs. Does not make their play calling wrong?

Folks are so upset we won, they even want the aints to be villains. Get it together folks.

    • yeah, now it's going to get awkward.  The team circles pay attention to all this stuff.  All the wives and girlfriends see the posts.  They all talk like everyone.  Football is just a normal world outside of the fact they play a game for lots of money.  Gossip travels. They know the Theilen's want out at this point.  Carolina is now the disappointed failed trade location.    So now AT takes sort of an inhouse hit in Carolina IMO
    • Ummm... The dude looked like he was about 180 pounds soaking wet with us (I don't care what his listed weight was/is) - he would have been destroyed in the run game even more than our current and past crappy ILBs. The problem is we primarily play 3-4 or nickel/dime - there is little room on the field for him because he isnt an edge LB blitzer and he can't cover for crap. The only thing he can do kind of well is be an in-the-box safety that can try and beat blockers to the spot because of his athleticism. Washington was able to make him work last year because they used him solely as an in-the-box safety and almost exclusively ran a single high FS. The funny thing is they had good yards/game stats against the pass despite most of their secondary having embarrassingly low PFF grades. Washington was also terrible against the run, which might explain why they gave up so few yards passing.
    • Just get the deal done. We've teased it so much that the Thielen's expect it. Now we run the risk of our veteran WR locker room presence becoming disgruntled. Just take what we can get, make him happy, and get future assets while freeing up snaps for guys who will be here beyond this season.
