wow about the guy in West Va...thats awsome! and the blue man in chicago holy poo i wouldnt last 15 seconds.

good stuff, i enjoyed the article.

I went to the panthers vs Bears playoff game in 2005. I was decked out as the unofficial Cardiac Cat. Face paint, blue Mohawk, jersey, gloves, panthers coat, etc. Sat in the lower bowl and gave them he'll.

I had good thrown at me, beer thrown at me, and told off by a 70 yo woman after the game. But, I gave them hell and we left with the victory.

Even had my picture in the Observer as their reporter up there saw me sitting in my seat before the fans.

Chicago fans are brutal.

The West Va. guy is picking me up in Charlotte. LOL

That's my buddy Greg Brown. We hit up the preseason Bmore game too.

We'll be at Roaring Riot's Tailgate as well.

Making things happen! :D

My tiny ass was the sole Cat fan in a Bears bar in Missoula, MT when that game went down.  Having 40 Bears fans yell derogatory comments and death threats at me was joyful.

Was in the stands sitting near Nate in his Blue Man suit (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2013/12/27/4571302/fans-trek-to-atlanta-to-cheer.html#.Ur4H8_S1z38).  He (and his girlfriend and her family) were awesome -- Nate even made it onto the Panthers Twitter feed today.

Tons of fun was had in general with the surrounding crowd - everyone wanted to get their photo taken with him.

    • Pretty sure that a QB contract payday is all the competition any QB in this league needs, I don't think a competent backup is going to make them play any harder when the current situation wouldn't warrant the contract extension yet anyways. Your opening point in this post is also the problem, "Bryce has shown signs of improving", but that's still all he's shown, and he's only showing that because of just how bad he was to start his career. If he played like last season from the beginning and never improved one bit, then I actually think more fans would be ready to move on from him, which is what's weird.  It's like going from one of the biggest draft busts of all time into the 25th best QB in the league over 3 years means he deserves a long term $40+ million a year contract extension. Improvement shouldn't be the goal when the result of said improvement is still bottom of the league levels.
    • Yeah, but we've seen him do it. Just not often. I think that's the reason for the taller WRs. Would likely be a problem finding someone like Jimmy Horn in the mess.
    • And the Rams, Seattle, Patriots, Green Bay, Jaguars and the Bills who all made the playoffs and in case you forgot, Seattle and the Patriots played in the SB. By any measure, that's pretty brutal.
