Olsen's TD Catch

Don't know if any of you realize how hard that throw was that Cam threw.

I can wing a football.  Always have.  I can throw it hard enough that you can hear it going by (or so some have told me) but,

that throw Cam made was nothing short of a missile.  I came off the couch at how fast that ball was thrown.

You will see great throws and you will see some incredible touch on a football but I would dare anyone to show me a ball that moved faster and harder than that one Cam threw.

It had to be that fast due to traffic.  No one had a chance to react to that throw.

For Olsen to catch that shows what a great tight end he is.  In traffic. At that speed.

Just an amazing throw and a more amazing catch.

On SC, Trent Dilfer was doing his "Dilfer's Dimes" BS and this throw was on there... he doctored it all up with flame coming from the back of the ball and the ball was thrown so hard that it was still on fire until Cam gave it to that little kid... according to Dilfer Cam used his super powers to cool off the ball before giving it to that kid.

You can hear Cams throws from the stands. I've thrown with the QBs at ECU and you also can hear the ball leave their hands from the rotation.

    • height being an issue doesn't just mean batted balls.  You could argue Bryce minimizes batted balls by adopting other poor habits such as his jump passing and leaving the pocket.   As I said, there are plays you can point to where he clearly was blind to parts of the field/players....which kills plays and opportunity. Which actually means some of the shorter/hot throws when things break down are where his vision gets blocked (and he had below average production all around the line of scrimmage).   has he figured it out? I mean, he improved off a trainwreck start.  But Bryce Young since arriving in the league (even while figuring it out)......doesn't generate much offensive production vs his peers.
    • People make a lot of noise about his footwork and I think it is overblown. Whether he takes 3 steps backwards or 5 small steps doesn't matter as long as he ends up at the right depth and is in sync with  the receiver regarding timing. If he does that consistently who cares as long as he has a firm stable base as he delivers the ball. Which he does need to work on. However even that is somewhat overblown given that often QBs have to throw off balance or from different arm angles to fit the ball around defenders. He is considered very accurate so apparently it isn't hurting him that much.
    • Thank you for all the release metaphors!  It's helped make my morning 😃 But no...just eww..
