McDermott to interview for Redskins HC this weekend...

Look, I'm not mad at the guy for doing what is best for him and his family. All I did was offer my opinion about the timing of this situation, and I just don't agree with it. We gave the guy a chance after Philly ran him out of town back in 2010, just expected some courtesy.

I'm not sure where you're going with the Hardy thing. Is he actively speaking to other teams right now? No? Okay.

It's already happening, so hey, I accept it. I've said my peace.

Oh, I don't disagree with you. I had heard another assistant had tabled his interview till after the playoffs (forgot who, and what team). So I get you.

McDermott's scheduled for Saturday. And realistically, you can fly from Charlotte to DC, and back rather quickly (especially by Snyder's private plane, if he uses it). And most of the heavy practice this week will take place (most likely) on Thurs or Friday.

Posted a similar perspective that Growl just gave and felt I had possibly overeacted. I will stand by the one truth that the Seahawks coaches refuse to interview for other jobs until the season is over, and that's everyone of them who have been contacted to interview. You cannot deny it says something about their commitment to the team during this most important time for any franchise.I can understand his desire to advance his career, but still would rather it not have to happen at this time.

Lots of crying in this topic about  a guy whose defense is second in the league. What's he preparing for exactly for that one day he's going to miss? We don't even know who we're playing and the defense isn't exactly broken (just needs rest, which they are hopefully getting).

Sean McD was run out of Philly and is of the same line of defensive scheming as Ron. If we lost Sean, so what? It's not like Shula didn't step in for Chud and create an offense that wins games. It's not like someone else can't come in with a weak zone Tampa 2 that only works because of how good our personnel is. Look at our defense in prior years. The addition of DTs and Luke allows for the cover 2 scheme. Tackling won't stop being coached. Hell, with CBs, we might not even use Tampa 2 next year anyway.

McD has done a great job this year, but do people forget how many games our D lost for us in late game situations last year?

And you're kidding yourselves if you don't think this is a major distraction.  He's not interviewing to be a cashier at Wal-Mart.  He's going to have to put a lot of prep time into this to get ready.  I'd prefer that he be watching tape on our potential playoff opponents, not watching tape of the Redskins to prepare for his interview.

    • It was absolutely a catch, and I can’t believe how many folks were stating, before the NFL’s apology, that the overturn was the right call.  The ultimate question in this case is this: can a player complete a catch with only one hand? Of course, we all know the answer to that question, and it is an emphatic “Yes.” T-Mac maintained complete control with one hand (believe it was the right) while the other came off when the ball hit the ground. The ball was in the same position in the one hand (watch T-Mac’s fingers in relation to the NFL shield on the ball) after touching the ground as it was when it first went to the ground. Going back to the question above, if one hand can establish control, then there was no need for the other to stay on the ball, so long as the ball doesn’t move in that one hand that stays on it   It blew my mind that they overturned this in the first place. This should not be a “We got it wrong on the replay because there wasn’t clear and convincing evidence.” This should have been, “That was absolutely a catch.”
    • Sign him up. I am willing to bet he wouldn't finish a game with -2 yards.
    • He is just fuging limited in every way.  On one hand, and nfl player, you would want to bulk them up so long as it doesn’t limit their mobility, elasticity, flexibility, ROM, or dynamicism - as is the concern with bulking up.  But the issue with that is, you would be worried about that when a guy has those traits to begin with.  Bryce is a very average athlete with a weak arm.  So if you’re not gonna be a great athlete with a strong arm, bulk up.  And if you can’t or won’t bulk up, find another fuging profession that doesn’t require athleticism and arm strength.  You’re built like a bitch AND aren’t a great athlete - you can’t be subpar in both categories…  well, unless you play for the Panthers apparently.
