Shula in the Playoffs

Considering we are/want to be a ball control offense, ppg isn't the best way to rank our offense.

The team is 12th in % of drives ending in a score. Not bad but the only team that ranked lower than than in the playoffs were the Chiefs...

i'd still rather score more often. im good with the long grinding drives. but we need to do it every time we get the ball. these 3 and outs and stalling drives are killers to our type of offense, espcially off turnovers and in the red-zone.

Lack of execution is responsible for the 3 & outs.

Umm, Cam himself said he didn't need to be running.

i can agree that he doesnt need to be running as much as he was the first two seasons. i AM saying that our offense should try to play to his strengths, one of which is his ability to make plays with his legs. keep his total (planned and unplanned) carries the same, but try to open up more holes so that if he does run, he'll get more yardage.

Well, who wouldn't want that?  :)

Shula may be part of the problem, but with an aging and injured offensive line, and a receiving corps whose best player is 34 years old, I am not sure we would be doing much better with anyone else.

Yeah because we shouldn't pick up some playmakers and let Shula see what he can do with them. Just because he has done wonders for Cam doesn't mean that we should keep him even though that allows Cam to continue to grow.  After all we all know that quarterbacks who have a  turnstile of offensive coordinators do so much better than those allowed to grow and develop in the same system.

Anyone would be better than Shula.  Who cares about that continuity crap.  Oh wait........................

You say that the players love how Shula includes everyone.  That we spread the ball around. You think he would figure out how to include them.  What do you mean Shula gives Cam a lot of leeway to call his own plays and gameplan.  Na, anybody would be better...  Right??

thats actually exactly what i am saying. the only way i'd be comfortable giving Shula another season would be if he had more tools to work with. more playmakers. i think its a vicious cycle at this point. the playcalling hinders execution, and execution hinders playcalling. something has to give. and believe me, i hope its the execution. i hope our boys get it together on sunday and go on an offensive tear all the way to a super bowl win
