My own choices...

The Best Game of the Weekend

I'm with the networks on this one.  I think the Broncos and Chargers will be the most exciting game to watch, though it won't surprise me if Panthers-49ers is the game that wins this prize too.  As far as the game result, despite some bad moments in his history, I still gotta bet on Peyton.  But hey, anything can happen.

The Biggest Point Spread of the Weekend

Probably the Patriots over the Colts.  Andrew Luck may be the real deal but the team he's got around him is held together with duct tape.  No way I can see them hanging with the Patriots in Foxboro.  Sucks too because I'd just as soon not see the Pats in another championship game, let alone Super Bowl (unless I can have the pleasure of watching them get blown out and run off the field).

Seahawks over Saints is a possibility here too, though less likely in my opinion.

The Worst Slugfest of the Weekend

Gotta be Panthers-49ers.  Both teams are extremely physical and not especially fond of each other.  This one's a 15 round fight where whoever gets in the last punch probably wins. Obviously, I want that to be us.  What I really don't want to see is a repeat of 2005 where we win the game but come out too bruised to be competitive in the championship.

The Best Chance for an Upset

Could be us if we're the underdog (last I saw I thought it was even money).  Outside of that, Chargers over Broncos is an option.  Saints over Seahawks could happen but I have a hard time imagining it.  Overall the safest favorite is probably the Pats.  i see all the other games as potentially up for grabs.

The Best Game of the Weekend

Panthers Vs 9rs

This game just has epic written all over it... 2 dynamic QB's, 2 dynamic defenses... Its like two freight trains running at each other full speed ahead!

The Biggest Point Spread of the Weekend

broncos....Manning is going to destroy the chargers.

The Worst Slugfest of the Weekend

chickens vs taints.... That weather could turn the game into a snooze fest...

The Best Chance for an Upset

Colts over patriots.... The caveman luck is pretty good, but this is not a Patriots team of old. They have a LOT of holes.

The Best Game of the Weekend

Our game

The Biggest Point Spread of the Weekend

Probably New England.  I would bet all four dogs this weekend as I expect only one (at most) of the 7+ games to cover.  I could see a scenario where Denver or Seattle just blows out their opponent but I do not think it is likely.

The Worst Slugfest of the Weekend

This is easy, our game without question.

The Best Chance for an Upset

Even if we go in as a one point dog, I do not consider that an upset as you are basically just picking the winner.  I am going to say New Orleans.  I think San Diego is built perfectly to keep it close, reminds me of Ohio St/Miami-Fla championship game, but after losing on their turf not long ago and hearin all week how they are in danger, I cannot see Denver not coming to play.  The defense will do enough to win.  Meanwhile I do not think Indy has the team to go win in Foxboro in January.  That leaves New Orleans.  Seattle will once again shut them down but they will not give up points the way they did last time.  I do not think they win but I think they cover and would be all over the Under on this one.

Best Game:  Depends on what you like to see.  Points scored, or defensive slugfests.  I would probably think most exciting will be Chargers Broncos, with Seattle NO and our games being fun if you like watching good D's.

Biggest point spread: I am going to go with Seattle NO.  I think this one could get away from the Saints if they aren't careful.

Worst Slugfest: Our game, no doubt. This will not be a pretty game by either QB, and I just hope we get a W.

Best Chance for Upset: Chargers over Broncos.  However if Ryan Matthews is out, I will change this to the Colts over Pats.

Winners

Seahawks vs Saints - SEA

Patriots vs Colts - NE

Panthers vs 49ers - CAR

Broncos vs Chargers - SD

BEST GAME

Panthers vs 49ers

The teams don't like each other AND it's win or go home. Both teams are extremely physical and out to prove something......oh yeah, did I mention they despise each other???

BEST POINT SPREAD

Broncos vs Chargers

I believe Rivers will go off on Denver's defense and will be aided by San Diego's tall receivers. Charger's defense don't really have much to lose seeing most give them no chance to slow down Peyton. They take a lot of chances and it pays off. SD forces 3 TOs.

WORST SLUGFEST

Panthers vs 49ers

(See BEST GAME)

MOST-LIKELY UPSET

Broncos vs Chargers

(See BEST POINT SPREAD)

Besides, I don't see the Colts or Saints pulling out an upset. Plus, like others have said, I don't really see an underdog in our game.

Game Winners:

Saints at Seahawks  - HAWKS

Colts at Patriots - PATRIOTS

49ers at Panthers - PANTHERS

Chargers at Broncos - BRONCOS

The Best Game of the Weekend

- Which contest will be the closest?  Panthers vs 49ers.  This is going to be chippy, punch you in the mouth, gut and cahunas game.  It's going to a be a slugfest and the last man standing wins.  Obviously I hope this is the Panthers standing in this 15 rounder.

I don't think the Saints will be repeating their prior performance and their game might be the next more interesting and may go to the last minutes to seal the win.  If the Breesus is eating turf a lot the first half, then all bets are off and it might be a blowout.

The Biggest Point Spread of the Weekend

- Who beats their opponent by the widest margin?  LIkely to be New England curb stomping the young Lucky one but also could be the Hawks - Taints game if that o-line can't protect Brees.

The Worst Slugfest of the Weekend

- Which two teams beat each other black and blue?  Easy.  Our game.  It will be the closest one too.  Hopefully we will come out of this in good shape  and ready to take on the winner of Hawks-Taints game.  I ain't afraid to take it to Seattle!!!

The Best Chance for an Upset

- Which underdog will overcome the odds?  Biggest underdog to me would be the Chargers cause I don't see Luck beating Tom in his own house.  If Broncos defense stinks this one up - then it's entirely possible.  I don't think Manning will be the cause of a Broncos loss - I see it being a result of poor defense.

    • The Seahawks won an emotional, divisional, overtime rivalry game vs the Rams on a Thursday night (Dec 18).  That gives them 10 days to prepare for the Panthers, but the Christmas holiday fell a week later--I bet they were afforded an extra day for travel-many coming back east.  Following the Panthers, Seattle plays at San Francisco for the division title (in all probability).   The Rams finish the season with games against the Falcons and Cardinals, two likely wins, pushing them to 13-4.  The Niners finish the season with home games against the Bears and Seahawks. Seattle finishes the season with the Panthers on the road and SF in California.   It is easy to see how preparing for the Panthers, during the holiday break and with the Niners waiting for them in SF a week later for (what could be) the NFC West title and #1 Seed in the NFC, could create the perfect trap game scenario.  The Panthers at home are 5-2.   In the past 2 weeks, the Seahawks struggled to beat the Phillip Rivers Colts in Seattle and then pulled off a miraculous, emotional victory at home vs. the Rams.  I am not convinced that they are as good as advertised. Seattle is a TD favorite in Charlotte.  I feel that Carolina by 3 may be more accurate.  While I am still not confident in this team's consistency and it never seems to dominate, it sure feels like a trap game for Seattle to me.  How could they NOT be thinking of San Francisco right now?  They are not used to being in this position (current players) and it is human nature.  Carolina 27, Seattle 24.
    • It is a tough decision.  There is another factor.  Is he in game shape?  A tired Hunt is not better than an "in-shape" Corbett.  When coming off an injury, it is natural to want to protect the injured area, even if it is completely healed.  This can cause you to contort your body for no reason, lose fundamentals, and it could lead to other injuries.  For example, I had a knee in high school that required getting taped.  That made me aware of the knee (not used to tape on my knee) and I pulled my groin (favoring or dragging the leg with the tape).  The trainer explained the groin injury the way I do here--but scared money makes no money.  If he is cleared to play, he is cleared to play.  Watch him, rotate him in for a series, etc.  Specifically, I would want to watch the matchup--who is winning more--Corbett or Hunt?  How is the defense reacting (if at all) to Hunt being in?  Etc.
    • Shannon was sued for $50 million (settled out of court, I believe) for forcing sex on his girlfriend during a two-year relationship.  He denies it, but ESPN let him go last April.  Chad Johnson's wife filed a police report because he head-butted her in a car and was put on probation. I had to google it.  I watched the Ray Rice video and when you see it, you realize just how vile and cowardly abusing a woman really is.  But for the same point Aussie tried to make, these women are defenseless, and being phyiscally bigger and stronger does not validate your actions.   I can't even stand to watch Steve Smith.  I can't normalize this kind of behavior--again, I do not think R-P had that in mind when he posted this.  When the reason was exposed, we should realize that we are talking life (quality of) and death (in some cases) here.
