Not just a new OC, but a new system is needed.

I still don't understand why we abandoned two TE sets. Cam seemed to flourish with two big pass catching TE, and we never even attempted to replace shockey.

This also makes you wonder how the offense would have looked if we went with Hue Jackson but no doubt we need an infusion of  talent first. No matter who is OC.

I don't agree! Shula hands were tied when it comes to personnel.

We need an O Line, and a big WR, but I still think we should be a power running team.

Look at how many teams are left in the playoffs that are running teams.

Patriots, Seattle, 49ers, and Chargers....

Enough said!

I would say that we need a new culture on offense. Gut it as it is. Keep Cam. Keep Kalil. Keep Smitty and Olsen and Tolbert. Then start over with the rest. Let gross retire. Get rid of the coaching staff on that side of the ball... Everything.

I'd even be okay with kicking the tires with ken Whisenhunt and seeing if he'd be interested in being head coach.

Dear Gettleman,

About the offense... Blow it up. Blow it all up.

We need a new OC to come in and design a new system around Cam. Something with a faster pace and an identity.

From there, draft and sign players who compliment it. Please don't try to put bandages over what we currently have. It won't work. Shula is not capable of making in game adjustments, as I stated around this time last year.

And don't give me that "Cam can't learn a new system" crap. Cam is a bright guy, with a legit offensive staff he will be more than fine, he will have an identity. Loads of offenses flourish in their first year.

Love,

Zod

Shula's freaking philosophy is from the 80s and 90s. It works when you have a legitimate defense but when the defense is having a bad day and your offense needs to score points -- you're boned.

Our two-minute offense is a fudging disgrace and our ability to set up plays is poo. We can't possible get the best out of Cam in a system where we take 10 years to line up and get down the field.

It is also the philosophy of Seattle and SF, as well as the philosophy of all three NE Super Bowl winners. Not to mention last years super bowl winner.

This still Baffles me. We need to go back to two-TE sets. We need to draft a TE and a WR.

But then again we need DBs and OL too.

And a HB.

Yeah, that third quarter, 8 min drive was a joke. Score or no score, I was complaining how long they were taking to score, knowing they would still have to stop the 49ers and score again themselves. I thought it was dumb, and wondering "where was the two minute offense"?

The good thing about OL and RBs in the draft is that quality guys can be found way later in the draft. A first day starter can easily be found in the third, fourth, or fifth round.

We have an offensive line that can't pass block very well and receivers who have trouble getting open and a young QB who still gets fooled sometimes.

So we should pass more, amirite?

Huddle OCs

They can't run block either.  They are even worse at it I think.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
