You Better Get To Know "CALVIN PRYOR"!

frankly, when you draft at 28, you have to look at bpa if he truly can make an impact.

if he falls to us, it's gonna be a touch decision.  It know Getty wants OL, and everyone

knows we need multiple receivers, but I don't know if we will find any OT's or WR's at that

pick who could impact the team as much as this guy.

tough choice.

It's about the player available and the impact that can be had on the team. Our current starting safeties are Colin Jones and Robert Lester. While its likely Mitchell comes back, Mikell is 34 and Godfrey is done here. Easy Cap space and decision. To add a playmaking safety to our defensive backfield would be huge. Someone who can cover Jimmy Graham. Nice sound to it huh?

If you want to watch Nakamura come back and start be my guest. In the division we play in, with the pass happy teams well play I want my best guys out there. If that means taking a safety round 1 rather than reaching on a project receiver so be it.

Man people are always putting words in my mouth on this forum. Where did I say I wanted naka back? Oh ok I didn't. Mitchell is 100% coming back. Lester has shown he can play. I'm perfectly content with those two as starters. And why would taking a wr be a project, but not a safety?

I didn't mean to put words in your mouth. Wasn't my intent. Just having seen shitty safety play for years here I don't want to see it again. I would love for Mitchell to come back but it's not a forgone conclusion. Free agency never is. I like Lesters potential but there's a reason he was an udfa. He could be good. He's shown the flashes but he's also looked lost and confused at times.

Pryor is a stud who could immediately turn one of our biggest weaknesses into a strength

Pryor would take our defense to the next level

Yes let's ignore the biggest problems on our team to take our biggest strength to the next level. I swear the huddle must have some input into the way the panthers really draft which explains why a 34 year old is our number one wr and he's still the center piece to our offense. If Gman Goes safety in the first it will just show how messed up our front offices priorities really are. I'm already Sick for how the front office has handled cam already. If you have a franchise qb you build around him not handicap him even further by going safety. This kid could be a hall of fame qb be but your answer is to let him further make all the plays with his legs. Kap has crabs bolden and davis. cam has a aging star and a guy who is closer to a wr than te.

Our biggest weakness is at RT,WR and CB... Not to mention 2 overpaid RBs. Mitchell and Mikell both played well and I expect both will resign. I would rather trade down for additional picks on offense or CB.

If we were to tag and trade Hardy for a 2nd. Then draft Pryor in the 1st and double dip on WR with Robinson (Penn St) and Moncrief (Ole Miss) in the second. In the 3rd look at the OT Moses. Big body, versatile and quick.

In Free agency use the cap space to sign Sam Shields, Giacomini, Golden Tate and possibly an Eric Winston. Resign Mitchell, Gross.

If you look at what I'd like big picture does that make it look like a stronger team on paper addressing all weaknesses?

I ask that you look above at my post with other picks and free agency acquisitions.

If our draft and free agency played out like that would you not agree all of a sudden we were a much stronger team?

1. This receiver class is deep

2. I think Cam is good enough to work through it

3. Seattle shows that you need a strong defensive backfield, even more so than a strong front 7.

A guy like Pryor would give us range at the safety at the position and a hard hitter to boot

Safeties like that make the entire back 4 better

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
