Jordan Matthews

Im seriously having issues creating threads. Keep getting page not found after submitting so im trying ways to go around it

Basically Charlotte Observer had an article that Jordan is a student of the game and been scouting his defensive opponents for the senior bowl and apparently his preparation works cause he's improving day to day at practice. Also according to NFL.com he stayed after practice with the QB to focus on redzone throws

I'm a HUGE Jordan Matthews fan.

He's another one of those kids that was born in Alabama and wanted an offer from the big state schools SO BAD but didn't get it and then showed out elsewhere proving to them that they made a mistake (like Demarcus Ware who went to Troy).

Kid is smart, big, a hard worker, and a great route runner.  His only drawback with regard to the pro game is lack of breakaway speed.

If we take him at #28 I'll be effin' THRILLED.

I think speed is an issue if you have average to weak route running or can't get off the line. Apparently route running is his best attribute and I haven't heard much about him having an issue getting off the line. Even Boldin and Fitzgerald ran a 4.7 DAMN lol. Crabtree ran the same Jordan did, 4.55. I'm more interested in his vertical and him catching the ball at the combine

    • We have without question one of the worst QB rooms in the league and your key concern is people having the audacity to be talking about it lol.
    • I saw this list crossing the screen waiting for any Panther.  Chubba, JC Horn and Hunt.  It was a crime to see so many that were not as good as these three.  ESPN is garbage anyhow.
    • Bingo!  We are on the same page.  Our scouting department was average under Hurney, but at least we hit hit it out of the park with our first rounders.  Our scouting department under Tepper's reign with his revolving doors of HCs and GMs has sucked because the scouts largely stay in place.  One or two may change every few years, but the core philosophy stays in place and I believe that to be heavily RAS influenced.    Looking the part of a football player (physical/athletic measurables) vastly outweighs putting on the tape and deep diving into his stats with our scouting department. Until we change that mindset, this team is doomed. Again, how many of us Huddlers (none of us are professional scouts) wanted McConkey over Legette? Yet, we went with XL.  Why?  RAS score, pure and simple.  If you put on the tape and look at the numbers without taking RAS into account, McConkey was the clear choice.
