Greg Hardy waiting on phone call, 'crapload' of money

Football players have careers that are "backwards" (for lack of a better term) and short. The average person makes more money as he/she ages and has a career that spans decades. The opposite is true for football players.

I hope he gets what he wants and we get what we want. If the two are not the same, so be it. Life goes on.

Your statement is only true is you think football players should not have to work for the rest of their lives...after playing for 7-8 years.

The CJ contract really fuged us over. So, since CJ is getting paid all this money, Hardy thinks he's entitled to equal or more.

It's got nothing to do with CJ and everything to do with being an elite pass rusher.  Those guys get big money.  There's no way around it.

Hardy is going to get his, whether it's here or somewhere else(probably the later).

CJ will restructure to make room for Hardy... he'll get the same amount of guaranteed money he was going to get anyways and he's smart enough to realize how much easier and more pleasant his own job will be with a complimentary DE.

He's already restructured once. They asked him a few months ago if he'd restructure again, he laughed and said "hell no."

I think at the very least we'll tag him with the tag that allows us to match an offer.  I think he may be surprised that there isn't a mind blowing contract out there for him.  Todays NFL is different under the new CBA.  I think the only guys to get monster deals anymore will be franchise QB's.

Fan logic at its finest. Why begrudge the man for chasing money? Football players have careers that are "backwards" (for lack of a better term) and short. The average person makes more money as he/she ages and has a career that spans decades. The opposite is true for football players.

I hope he gets what he wants and we get what we want. If the two are not the same, so be it. Life goes on.

I don't mind him "chasing money" if he values money over winning, then let him go play for the raiders I don't give a fug. But the comments he is making come off as selfish. Like it's not about the Carolina Panthers, it's about Greg Hardy and his money. Let your agents chase the money for you. Now if he leaves we all know the reason why.

I really want hardy to come back. Like really really. But I don't want to go down that Hurney rabbit hole again and damage future cap years so that when 3 year pro Willy Beamish wants a contract extension and he is one of the most elite WRs in the league by then we can easily do that, like we could've done easily with Hardy if Hurney didn't go apeshit with signing bonus money for non-essential positions in 2011 and 2012
