Who cares what ole Pat thinks, the reason why I wanted to post this was because while reading it I was thinking about how awesome it is to have Cam Newton as a quarterback.  I would be frustrated if the Panthers were in Tampa Bay's shoes.  Glennon did good enough to hold on to the job, which would piss me off.  I would rather take a chance on finding a true franchise quarterback.  I think Matt Moore is a favorable comparison.  I was conflicted on giving the reigns to Moore.  Clausen was drafted and that ended Moore's tenure as the Panthers starter.  Delhomme may or may not have been a quarterback to build a franchise around, probly not even though he was awesome, but you could argue that all day.  Kerry Collins, a 38 year old Beuerlein, Chris Weinke, Jeff Lewis....no no no no.  The point is that it feels so so sooooo good to have a great quarterback finally.  Glennon sucks, Ryan is overrated and Brees is getting up there in age.  The Panthers are blessed.

have the bucs ever had a true franchise quarterback in their history?  i think vinny testaverde is still their all time leading passer.

i know since realignment it's gone brad johnson - griese/simms period - jeff garcia/gruden brings 20 washed up QBs in to camp and whichever turd floated to the top of the bowl got the job - josh freeman with his one good season - glennon

Considering he didn't even expect to start this season, lost how many running backs, and the Schiano circus was running the show, he did pretty damn well. Hell his first couple games they were leaning on him like he was a 10 year vet. Who starts a rookie throwing the ball 40+ times his first 4 games?

    • I watched a clip of all the offensive snaps. Young threw into some tight coverage and the guys made some plays on the ball. He also really missed some throws.  He has this middle of the field thing into a tight window pretty good and made three or four nice plays but he was just too inconsistent with his accuracy especially in the red zone. Today and in general.    That Int where people were chastising Legette for ‘not fighting through the coverage’, he in no way could have gotten to that ball. IMO. I think he thought it was going to hit the ground and didn’t see the defender coming for it. But not sure what he could have done. The camera doesn’t show the spatial relationship very well, I think the ball was way off. maybe 6 feet or more off target to the inside of the field.  Rico is a beast. And a very good receiver.   That was my impression without dissecting and rewinding, just letting the video roll. I did rewind the int two or three times to look at that one.
    • My biggest issue with keeping Darnold, which I felt we should have done, is we would still have Fitterer. And everything that came with that.  I think Morgan is going to be good.  Baker, just did not play well at all here. Not sure what else we were supposed to take away from it at the time.  That’s my short ‘I don’t want to argue about it’ take.
    • Even if we somehow make the playoffs we will be one and done so fast. Seattle, Rams, TB, Panthers, Detroit and Philly are all better than us.
