Riley Cooper would you want him

I don't have a problem with Cooper.  He seems to be sure handed.  That is all that really matters.  That and getting open.  His numbers looked pretty good this season.  I do not put faith in stats all that much.  I like to eye test folks too and I did not watch much of Philly so I can't say for sure.  But if he's cheap and Gett thinks its a good move, I am 100% behind it.

Let me be clear: I would not want Riley Cooper on my team regardless of his production. I have never posted anything suggesting that I would.

My point was that football players are just like everyone else. They are not the mythical figures we build them up to be. I can understand children making this mistake but not adults.

You will never know what ANY of these guys are like behind closed doors, so be careful who you or your children idolize because you never know who tomorrow's headline will be about.

I can't stand guys like Cooper or Incognito and my point wasn't to justify their behavior at all. It was to point out that people are people regardless of their occupation. I was a bit off topic so I'll take the blame for the misunderstanding.

We can't control what they do behind closed doors. Darren Sharper probably raped 7 women behind closed doors, Saints fans can't go back and revoke that they supported him. But we do what we can, and it's not at all unrealistic standards to hold an athlete to to not say racist things, because that's the same standard we should hold everyone to.

I heard/read that the Eagles are going to have to decide between Cooper and Maclin. Cooper obviously has chemistry with Foles and Maclin hasn't been on the field. I also read Maclin could be interested in a 1 year "prove it" type of deal. I'd certainly be interested in bringing him in over Cooper.

Hell yes. Big dude with big hands red zone threat.

Lol at people getting mad because he said a "bad" word in 2014 when he was piss drunk at a country concert..

He came out and played great after that after people trying to blast him.

And you guys are still on Jonathon Martins side when he quit playing football after his situation.

Riley Cooper is better than lafell point blank. Keyboarders we as humans are not perfect. You can't tell me your going to judge the man on a 15 second video LOL probably getting mad at this post

Interesting thread.

No. I wouldn't want him on the team.  Fortunately the Panthers seem to steer clear (in general) of players with off-field issues (as far as signing them as FA's).

Some have brought up Smitty's issues, but he was already a Panther and those issues were dealt with internally so not really a fair comparison imo.

As I said earlier in the thread, if people didn't use certain words in everyday conversation because they are trying to be cool... they wouldn't come out in a drunken stupor. This kind of thing not only shows a lack respect for the people around you at any given time but it also shows you have no self respect either.

We also did not see any footage about the people that he was referring to in that video..For all we know, they could have been pushing his buttons for a while. He was obviously defensive in that video. Im not racist, but if white or black people want to act tough and thuggish, I may have some negative words for them as well.

All of last season I kept telling myself "if only we could find an offensive weapon that would probably think Cam Newton is an ape it would 100% push us over the edge". And now Riley Cooper is just RIGHT THERE for the taking.

Providence.
