San Diego St. RB Adam Muema leaves the combine for "religious reasons"

Shame on them too. I have always been against players that show up and don't participate whatever their reasons may be (other than injury of course). The thread was about this one player and I don't feel any different towards him because his reasoning was "God told him to do it." He robbed another player that was willing to show up and put everything on the line and he did it by choice.

That's fine if that is your reason for being critical as that is a valid reason. My problem with this thread is that it is solely based on the fact this kid used God as his reasonings and everyone can't get to the keyboard fast enough to call him a psycho. It's the personal attacks that rub me the wrong way, nothing else.

This guys said his god told him that if he didn't run the drills, he did not tell him NOT to run the drills.

This guy is not following any sort of biblical teaching at all, so i would be afraid that come the second Sunday of September, his god might tell him to go on a picnic, that his team will win anyway.

A bit of a mixed up young man unfortunately.  Or he could just be using PED's and trying to impress Pete Carroll

I actually went to school with Adam and was good friends with many of his teammates. They told me this past season that he is a bit of a strange dude and sometimes he just doesn't feel like playing football on a given day so he won't. There are days when he just goes through the motions and would rather be elsewhere and there are days when he is dominating the competition and running wild. I never knew about the religious aspect of this though and that was never mentioned.

Seems to me like he just ins't passionate about the sport 24/7 or every day of the week. If his head and heart is telling him that he doesn't want to play in the NFL, then so be it. He shouldn't have to work out and shouldn't have to help his stock if he doesn't want to make the sport his life. He is probably torn because he knows he has the ability to do so and probably will be letting a lot of people down if he doesn't pursue a career in professional football.

Personally, I feel for the kid. Just my .02.

That sounds like chemical imbalance to me.

Could be but I'm not going to speculate further. All I know about the kid was shared in my post above and I wish him the best. He was a talented football in college and I enjoyed watching him the last couple seasons. If he wants to play football he will have some questions to answer about this past weekend and will have to perform well at his pro day. If he doesn't want to play football, so be it.

    • I'm salty every time I see someones mid picks become stars while we throw first and second rounders over and over and they all stink outside of Tet (who still has a lot to prove, imo)
    • There is a contingent that is total Bryce but they weathervane with the wind. When the good Bryce wind blows about once or twice a month we hear a lot from them. But they are always pro Bryce, they just don’t pipe up too much when he sucks. I can’t speak for them, as far as what they are looking at.    In a second contingent, the collective mind is made up. He has had had basically three years worth of starts that might include a top tier outing or two, a few second tier outings, offset by about the same number of bottom tier outings which actually may have the edge there.  The rest of his stuff is third tier and that is going to be the bulk of his starts. We want to move on. And we aren’t getting off of that hill until he puts us off of it. He has not.    There is a third contingent that has no conviction and definitely weather vanes. Bryce is good. Bryce isn’t good. Depending on the latest game. They will buy into 7 on 7 success so that should tell you something.
    • Nacua is really fuging good. He might be a better version of Cooper Kupp.
