It's only a dummy void year, it's not an extension of his contract. That extra year counts as a place holder for bonus money (ie dead money)

Me too but I believe his time will come. He either takes a paycut next year or he could be a June 1st cut.

 

Restructuring makes it much harder to just cut someone. It saves money this year to cost more in other years. Its not always good news when a player restructures. Stewart is here at least 2 more seasons regardless if he is on the field or not, because cutting him would incur massive penalty so we are forced to keep him even if he never plays.

the guy can't stay healthy and hasn't been effective in a while and is waaaaaayyy too expensive and we give him more money and more time here? all so we can have $911k more this season? ugh.
