Congratulation Lafell! We enjoyed having you as a panther...not really...and look forward to getting some fresh new receivers in here whose hands aren't cursed.

So glad we can get some receivers in here who we can actually work out with Cam before we draft them, just so we can make sure they are able to catch Cams passes.

Cam gets to have some input into who he wants as teammates and it takes some of the guesswork out of which receivers have the hands to catch cams bullets...because all of our receivers struggled to haul in those lasers.

We also get to condition and develop our receivers having Cam as their QB from day 1. That should make TE adjustments and timing issues way less complicated to refine.

I'm really happy that Cam and all our receivers will get fresh starts, knowing that we will see steady progression over time. That equates to longevity and good player development that will maximize the return of investments made from season to season.

Love having a fresh crop of collegiate receivers who will be eager to go out an get it from day one rather than signing older receivers who tend to carry baggage or bad habits they have developed over time.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks. That statement doesn't apply to our receiving core and their QB who will be developing from day 1 as a cohesive group.

FSU Booster (and alum...not that it matters). When Jameis and Jimbo came out a couple of weeks ago and stated that Winston will probably not enter the 2015 draft...what they meant was...Jameis loves baseball and intends to earn his degree while playing 4 years of college baseball. When questioned, the first thing Winston mentioned was baseball season---2015.

Unless something unseen unfolds...Winston will not be in the 2015 draft. Mariota, Hundley, or some relatively unknown QB will be the pick. Hackenberg and Winston (for now) will battle it out in 2016.

Oh, and there is NO guarantee that Winston will ever declare for the NFL draft. If there is a good route to the MLB, he will seriously consider taking it.

But this is what I have heard from others...I am not claiming to be close to Winston.

Smokescreen to his potential civil lawsuit maybe. Or maybe delaying a big payday weaken such lawsuit.

      I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.

      Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.

      Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
