So, who are we going to bring in now Gettleman apologists?

It doesn't matter who we bring in if they carry a high price tag. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?

And NO!!!! WE COULDN'T AFFORD JONES!

In fact, we'll be lucky if we can afford any player, outside of the draft, thy you've ever even heard of.

Just be patient and be happy that we have an elite front seven and a running game that can minimize the shortcoming of our passing attack. Take away any of our front seven and we become average again and average isn't going to cut it, even if we did have an elite passing offense (just look at Denver as an example.)

Quit crying about players we can't afford and don't hold it against people who have enough common sense to realize that. You're just making yourself look like a big crybaby.

We could afford one receiver at 3 years, 11 million (like LaFell, Ginn, and Jones signed for) - that's not a big contract at all. If we had kept Steve that's two receivers right there - at least a somewhat decent receiving group if you add in a rookie.

Don't give me this crap about how it's Hurney's fault we have no receivers, when Gettleman cut the only guy we had. If we cut Godfrey we'd have enough money not to have to sign guys that wouldn't be starters in the CFL or arena league.

Tried but he decided he liked sun and pirates or something like that

We could've had him, we didn't try hard enough. And we didn't even get any second tier leftovers.. Now we're screwed at both positions.

So I guess we are suppose to pull two starters for both offensive line and WR in the draft? Playoff quality no less? Sounds like a grand strategy

Seahawks used a 7th round DT from NCSU as their starting RG this year. The sky is falling my ass. I wonder if half of you have any clue about what you are talking about or are just so bored you have to run your mouths about bs. At least think about what you are saying before you look like a total asshat.

Jones would have been nice, but again, he was over paid. Since teams have to spend at least 89% of the cap, teams like the Raiders are overpaying like crazy.

Lucky for us, we're easily there! Be patient. It would be nice for folks to chill out on the end of the season, Cam and Luke are bailing nonsense.

Oh, and you know what's going to happen to all these young guys? They will perform or be gone. So don't stress about things you can't control.

LOL overpaying? Keep telling yourself that. He makes just over 500,000 more per season than Ginn does on his deal, and he's making 200,000 more than Nicks is this season (that's if Nicks doesn't hit his escalators). That's not overpaid at all man...

Except most team's philosophy is to build through the draft. Carolina is no different. The draft is essential because it allows them, among all teams to develop a core for the team. Big splashes seem nice when it initially happens but we have watched too many teams end up failing and over paying. That leads me to my final point which is that I expect us to to sign a vet receiver but I don't expect him to be our star next season. I am fully expecting us to draft one or two receivers to develop with McNutt and King to be the future WR corp of team. So if that is considered banking on the draft then so be it but Carolina isn't the only team who banks on the draft. Sent from my XT907 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app

yeah that's understandable if that was the main position needing help but we have big holes at Cb and OT, maybe even safety a decent OG would help as well............one draft won't fix all of that and hoping the second coming of football Jesus is waiting to be cut won't either...........we don't have to spend big but if there's a guy that can shift how we draft dammit we need to jump on him(at the right price).

We can't afford that! We have like 5 million to spend on draft picks and FA. Get it through your f'n head!

Just throwing this out there. If we didn't sign Harper we could have easily signed Jones or Nicks.

God, we are fuged. We HAVE to double dip with our first and second pick at WR and even then it takes receivers time to get used to the NFL game. To make matters worse we are supposedly interested in a fuging lineman in the 1st.

I do apologize but you should've known all along we were going lineman in the draft.

    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
    • At least we don't need to hear overreacting about towels ...
    • Actually there is, try being a Charlotte Hornets fan. I mean the team fuging moved at its peak and hasn't recovered since and that was 25 years ago
