I'm not completely against bringing him in. I just don't understand kicking Steve to the curb only to turn around and sign Britt.

I'm not even sure a coach like Rivera can keep him under control.

His off the field woes are obviously well documented, but let's not pretend like he was one of the favorite guys in the locker room when he played for the Titans.

I want Kenny Britt. Has everything to prove and could be a legit 1 if he stays focused. Guy is a monster. Would be an instant improvement over Steve Smith in regards to production on the field.

I'm fine with signing just about anyone, but with all the recent poo talking about Steve Smith, punching teammates, supposedly being the biggest asshole to ever play in the NFL, etc, it's just ironic we are so willing now to bring in Britt.

Yep but I don't think we'll ask him to shoulder the load. I believe G-Man will draft a WR or two and King and/or McNutt will win the second spot. Britt would likely be our third (if we sign him) -- a great situation for him.

 

Perhaps you're right as far as their thinking about Britt, but I would think that with his skill set, he would be thinking of wanting to start.  He basically cried for the most of the season about not being on the field, until it was obvious that he had fallen out of favor.  So I don't know that he would think that the situation would be so great for him, and if he didn't I could see him becoming a distraction. That being said, I have no doubt that Rivera could keep him under control. Moreover, I wouldn't necessarily go in thinking that either McNutt or King are slotted to be our number 2, I am thinking that the powers that be believe in competition. With our WR corps as it is, they are going to see who wants to step up. If it be any of the aforementioned, or our draft picks, competition is going to determine who gets the nod.

He wasn't asked to restructure apparently. Who knows if he was asked to take a pay cut. He was on record saying he wouldn't.

Britt drove drunk a couple times but was never a vocal leader or anything. It's not the same thing. The throwing punches thing was years and years ago and should never have been brought up in the discussion now
