Want Gettleman out?

More like when our fan base (at least the ones in here) are nothing by high school and college kids whose real understanding of football came from playing Madden.

Many of them have never had real jobs....never worried about living within a budget....know abosutely nothing about fiscal responsibility.

This is not directed at you (becuase I know who you are and that you get it). It is just the whole "me" generation that have infested the Huddle with the "I want it now......and I don't care how we get it" mentality.

Sounds to me like these kids have grown up having a team to root for in Carolina and are going to be more emotionally attached die hard fans than the generation of 40 year old Panthers fans who switched from their old team. I do not think it is a bad thing. Smith is the kind of guy that creates loyal young fans and he is probably their first sports idol. Can not blame them, I envy them. Those are the golden years of sports fandom, I miss it. Then you find out athletes are only human as you get older and it changes things a little.

Has absolutely nothing to do with this petition. Just read this last week in posts. Will tell you everything you need to know about this fan base. Even one of our Mods is ripping our GM in every thread after going 12-4. It is a joke

It's called the off-season and every fanbase does it when moves are and aren't made.

I'm sorry to tell you but this is the norm for all teams.

i may not agree with all if decisions but Gettleman is more than qualified to handle the job. Last year proves we have many cry baby fan because he did much with little and we haven't even taken the first snap this season. Now where is this fury with Shula?

There is legit reason for why Marty Hurney is not an NFL GM today, nobody wants to be as embarrassed as we were for all those years

Outside of about 4 contracts.... wasnt that bad z. His Carolina resume is at worst middle of the road.

I still think Hurney was a scapegoat to a degree.....Big Cat played a role he somehow gets excused from

I tracked down information about that publisher. However, he is in high school. Since he is not 18, I will not disclose his home address or phone number.

I did, however, send his parents a message on Facebook. I politely informed them that they may want to monitor their child's internet usage to prevent him from going full retard in the future. Also, that there are a lot of idiots out their who will now have access to their families address and such thru their sons internet campaigning.

Never go full stalker.

Why would you do this, just don't sign it and carry on with your day. I don't agree with the kid but he has a right to free speech.

The draft hasn't even happened yet and this garbage is really happening?  Cutting Steve Smith wasn't even a terrible decision, it was just how it went down that was bad.  Give the man a chance to make some moves before you pass judgement!

Our fans are the laughing stock of the NFL because we blindly follow a organization that has never had back to back winning seasons. And with a straight face, we defend them even when everyone else out the planet sees it for what it is.

Not because some kid made a petition. Just about every team in the NFL has some petition about wanting somebody fired. Go to other forums, they bitch and complain just as much as the huddle. Remember the falcons wanted their coach fired last year. That's just fans.

They laugh, because we walk around with our chest poked out like we've won something, it took a winning streak to make this team relevant last year and even then we still weren't respected. Why? Because we aren't consistent winners. But this fan base thinks we are the 9ers, we ain't the 9ers and honestly we are closer to the Browns.

They laugh because they see a playoff team with a young, once in a life time QB, and we want him to throw to Jerricho Cotchery. That's why they laugh, they pity us and if you weren't a Panther's fan you would too.

Bingo. When you have friends asking what the fug your team is doing after having such a good year, thats when you have a problem.

16 fans hardly represents the fan base, or the Huddle. What some of us have failed to realize is that this is a free country. We can say what we want.

Some of you keep pointing to last week on the Huddle. Last week on the Huddle should have been expected. Of course you had a little more emotion involved because Smitty was cut, but that's to be expected. A "fug Gettleman", here and there was fair and acceptable in my opinion considering the circumstances, but that hardly means that most Huddlers wanted his head. If anything was embarrassing, it was people's overreaction to the overreaction. Accusing long time Huddlers of this and that, like wanting Marty Hurney back, or invoking the Chicken Little exclamation every time a thread criticizing Gettleman's handling of the situation. Now, on top of that, we have a situation where we are in uncharted waters with our WR corps. Of course some Huddlers and fans in general are going to feel some type of way about it, so why act all shocked when a few fans express their angst with a petition? Why call Panthers the laughing stock of the NFL, and try to intimate that the Huddle is part of the problem? For the most part the Huddle is probably one of the more knowledgeable and analytical NFL forums around, and web site rankings will bare that out. Has the place had a bit of anxiety for the last couple of weeks? Sure. But the Panther fan base has been in somewhat of an uproar, and it's not like the whole of the NFL, including other fans, isn't scratching their heads about what's going on. The Huddle has handled things pretty well, so people need not clump us in with the rest of the supposed laughing stock of the NFL, or the bottom feeder fans of the league. That notion is ludicrous from where I'm sitting as a long time, contributing Huddler.
