Better Know a Prospect - Jared Abbrederis

If we pick a tackle and receiver in round 1 and 2 I wouldn't be mad if we took him in round 3. He is underrated and his speed and athleticism is too.

Scouts get blinded by color when judging the legitimacy of a prospect.

We picked Cam and we got Luke because of this silly biased approach to the legitimacy of a prospect.

I think Jared is underrated because of the same biased scouting approach. I think he will be a very high end 2 when it is all said and done. That is definitely worth a 3rd round pick.

Because you made this about race it changes the dynamic of this thread.

Having watched some Bridgewater highlights, I would add Devante Parker to that list. I heard he was returning to school, then Strong leaves, and recently I saw his name in mock drafts. I am guessing that he is in the draft.

Parker (#9) seems to make all the catches.

Abbrederis, however, is a great possession WR who would benefit from Proehl's coaching. He could be a very solid player.

Wrong. He's still staying in school and will put up stupid numbers in Bobby Petrinos offense.

He is as "ready to play" as anyone.  A technician.  I would take him in the middle of the draft and feel like I stole something.

Great word to describe Abbrederis.  He is a student of the game and runs some of the best routes of any WR in this draft.  Guy just flat out gets open and makes plays.

I would LOVE to get him in this draft.

I watched a lot of Big 10 football and a lot of Wisconsin FB (have a bunch of friends from WI).  Guy just jump out at you in EVERY game.

I would LOVE to get him in this draft.

Love his ability to get open, vision to see cuts and plays 2 and 3 steps ahead of everyone else, route tree is one of the best I've seen in this draft class, Velcro hands, and his YAC for someone that is supposedly "not fast" is top notch. He would be solid in the 3rd and the tutelage under Proehl would be sweet. It's like someone else mentioned....you know he's going to get the ball, yet he's able to work it to get open and be a ballhawks for his QB. Reminds me a little of Larry Fitz and how you can't stop him from getting the ball even though you know the QB is going to him.

I made it clear that I was not sure what the situation was--great catch!

Abbrederis runs great routes, makes terrific adjustments, knows body control and positioning, and most of all, has tremendous hands.  Used correctly, he will be a solid, productive player for 12 years.

I would take him in the 3rd round.
