Underwood in 2013 with a rookie Mike Glennon:

24 receptions, 440 yards, 18.3 average, 4 touchdowns

Ginn in 2013 with Cam Newton:

36 receptions, 556 yards, 15.4 average, 5 touchdowns.

He also ran a 4.31 forty. Ginn ran a 4.28.

Works out to roughly the same catch rate but with Underwood slightly ahead. I would also assume considering who QB's each team that when Ginn was targeted the ball was actually near him.

Ginn had some big time drops this year that people forget about. Buffalo and Miami off the top of my head that could've been game changers. I'm not certain what Underwoods hands are like but it was literally 50/50 when Cam threw that ball up to Ginn on a go route

The only thing he doesn't offer that Ginn does is return ability (which we now lack since captain and ted are both gone). Otherwise, in very happy about the signing. I think he will be the #3 receiver on the team immediately.

This is a good signing. Seems like he's come more into his own as a WR now in his career. Checking his game logs he seems to be good for a couple solid games, even a few 100  yd performances a season.

I think Ginn is a better all-around WR who got progessively better last year.  Maybe Underwood can do the same but I am on board with this signing.
