this is head coach material stuff here. fire the team up, taking accountability for mistakes, and overall showed leadership not the BS Jets postgame where the team played like absolute crap and everyone was patting themselves on the back
-
I’ll say this about DC. He’s willing and able to change and adjust game to game. It’s a big reason we’ve won some of these games. Opponents game planned for one thing and DC came in with something else.

I guess their board TATF is gone, too bad. That place would be on fire tonight. Like, fire everybody. Which they might should do.

I live in 49er country. I would love nothing more than to walk into work Tuesday morning with bragging rights lol.

No problem. Long time ago I worked tech support so I get it

Will 5-6 wins be enough for Canales to keep his job?
flagfootballcoach28 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Think about how batshitt crazy Tepper would look like if he fired Canales. The die hard fans are much more critical on Canales since we watch every game, but from an outside perspective the average fan sees Carolina as a team who has vastly improved and should be ecstatic with what Canales has accomplished with this team. When was the last time we had 6 wins at this point of the season? Is Canales perfect? No. But he’s 100% safe. It shouldn’t even be a thought -
Tampa lost today so you guys are in this race.

With that QB too. And that defense last year. And Tepper. It ain’t there but it is way better than it has been really, since Tepper bought the team. People knew the axe was gonna fall for Ron. As soon as he was forced to switch to a 3-4 the writing was on the wall. They say you lose a game for every rookie you start. We got two or three starting. Probably more. Very young team.

We were stunned you lost too. -
Honestly, it was awesome to watch the win but even during the game it felt like a microcosm of this season. We come back to down 5 and then miss a 2 point conversion that takes some of the oomph out and then Young flubs 4 straight drives with stuff like spins into sacks or thinking he can run through a LB and we get 3 points on those 4 drives where it felt like we could break the game open. Defense played awesome in the second half but still gave up 2 FGs due to bad special teams and turnover on downs. Then we get the drive to take the lead before the bad special teams and the D plays lights out in OT and we drive and win. Also, what’s with not kicking on third down in case of a bad snap? Why would you ever run for a yard at most and risk a fumble just to give yourself 1 shot at a FG in case of a bad snap? We had plenty of timeouts and we gained almost nothing after Tremble’s catch.

I think I under appreciated him when he was here because he was maybe misused and overused and hurt a good bit. edit in fact my first reaction to he will kick our ass, is will he play. -
Jalen Hurts is really struggling as a passer this season.

Yes probably. I think Canales could be really good with “his guy” -

I get that, and all I'm saying is I feel like CMC is going to take this game personally and on the big MNF stage, is going to put an ass whopping on us. I'm still of the belief that a healthy and motivated CMC is still the best non QB in the entire NFL -

It is an away 1pm start for a WC team so we will have that goi g for us. It is hard t9 gauge this team week to week and I think without pressure Darnold is pretty efficient. And we get very little pressure. -

SF is very very good, Panthers will be humbled in prime time. The rest of the schedule is going to be very hard. -
Signs of good coaching.
-
True. However, we are finding ways to win the close ones that we 100% would have lost in the past. I think one more good draft/FA and possibly another QB and we are playoff bound.
-
That’s fair, it is just a discussion. Burns and Moore were late firsts and for sure paid off that investment.

In SF on MNF CMC is about to put a Smitty like beating on us with that kind of stage, not sure how beatable they're going to be with him doing that. -

If darnold throws 4 picks we might have a chance. No way in fug we are beating the rams -
Yeah, Tommy Tremble taking a nothing screen pass in OT 60 yards …was legendary play by Bryce lol reality is BY had a very nice 2nd half vs a bad Atlanta team. That changes nothing. If you start bad players over and over and over again…..random good days happen. See Legette.
