  1. Past hour
  2. I have eased up on this. He was incredibly stupid Monday. However I dont advocate firing. We cant keep doing that and expect better coaches. He better have learned that obvious lesson
  3. Dave ain’t it, but hopefully young is replaced first out the two since I’m sure both won’t be replaced at the same time
  4. A coach tells you what he thinks about his QB through the plays he calls. You run an offense through the QB. And we run the most closed-off & restrictive offense in the entire league. A coach's failings become obvious when the fault is blatant or if the entire team is in disarray/the players quit. See: Reich. But right now, it's really difficult to tell. Dave had one of his bigger coaching flubs this past game, no disputing that, but agree it's just hard to see once separated from what we have that's capping us. Seems like he's got the guys still playing with some decent punch, for as bad as the offense was.
  5. Hate when teams, specifically us in recent years, trade away sure things for draft picks and sell it as a rebuild. This notion that the most valuable assets must be auctioned off in order to rebuild a teams is the most overrated strategy In sports Obviously we didn’t learn from that mistake as we went on to trade burns and DJ Moore
  6. There is no shortage of other superhero characters to choose. Maybe make your own thing, instead of co-opting someone else and their celebration.
  7. We never should have traded him it’s as simple as that. Same with DJ. Same with Burns. You don’t trade young, home grown, proven talent for a lottery ticket. People who bitched about cap and how much they were making need to pay attention to the product on the field since then. CMC alone would win us a coupon extra games that we had no business winning, not even mentioning the leadership and tone setting he brought to the team. He’s a 1k receiver and 1k runner and opens up everyone else on the field because cmc must be double teamed constantly, and any time he is not, he gets the ball.
  8. The fact you still think he ended Youngs career last year vs the reality it was his and Dan's game plan all along is the excuse. That man went into a game leaning on Bryce while avoiding the run game because ' he wanted to build on Young’s record-breaking passing performance' in year 2 after watching the team win despite Bryce's limitations. Or is he so weak he allows Dan and Tepper to force his playcalling? You allow so little blame to fall onto him which is making excuses for him when there is blame ro assign to everyone. You look at DC like Tepper looked at Fritters in 22 or Dan in 23, which were both poor calls too. In reality is just a matter of how much blame should get assigned to who because no one is blameless in that mix. Wasted talk is trying to do the mental gymnastics to prove how blameless Dave is in the current mess. He is obviously one of the issues and the only reason to really keep him is because we would be left with hiring another bottom option given the way the team is run.
  9. He made some terrible decisions but winning anything with Bryce is better than we've had recently
  10. Totally lost respect for Fox over his pettiness in 2010. He went from hero to zero for me. I loathed him because of it. He quit but stuck for that check. edit: but, it was just one season. Before that he was pretty darned good.
  11. Bryce is simply yet another a Tepper problem. He is Tepper’s guy for reasons unrelated to football. Reich knew Bryce wasn’t it. The way Canales talks about Bryce, he knows it too. These are people with football knowledge. Tepper wanted to draft him and is forcing Bryce on coaches. And resigning Bryce will be yet another indicator of all this. I am not a huge fan of Canales but it’s pretty obvious he’d be able to coach more effectively without Bryce.
  12. Half of the starters are legit good NFL talent. Tet, Coker, Ickey, Hubbard, Rico, Moton, Hunt, Lewis, Brown, JC Horn, Moehrig. Definitely still lacking in places and no where what I would call a good roster, but it has trended in a positive direction. Bridge is the only consolation I can give myself to cope with this gross coaching negligence in every aspect. There are/were so many better options that weren’t welcome here (Harbaugh/Payton) or never were going to be a part of this ish show (Ben, Shane, etc).
  13. I remember that poo well. It was an offseason of retraining Young’s footwork/throwing process. He had a decent single drive in preseason vs Buffalo where you could see him executing the new technique on a few passing downs. Go to the opener vs New Orleans and he stuck with it until the end of the first quarter. It went totally out the window and he reverted to his horrible unique to him technique. That was, is and always will be a total fail. I think he’d have been yanked right there if Canales wasn’t brand new. Bryce was absolutely horrible those first two games. By the end of the second game we had WRs openly rebelling and pitching fits on the sidelines. Benching him was the only option at that point.
  14. I'm not painting Frank as some poor helpless victim. If John Fox were to look like he couldn't coach an 10 year old rec team.......it's not because John Fox is a mentally challenge clown that doesn't know football suddenly. There would be a glaring issue that isn't John Fox at play. It's just reality acknowledging. It's the same old song and dance here. It's Groundhog Day in terms of talking about the most glaring issue at any moment in time. Constantly making excuses for Canales? I've rarely ever have said a nice world about him. I didn't like the hire. I don't like his O. I don't like him being the OC/HC. And I trashed the entire setup going into this season just like I did going into last season. my profile pic is what it is for a reason. Nothing we can do about the Tepper problem. Wasted talk. So I move on to the ones we can do something about. So the biggest issue remains, Bryce and the folks in the front office that will have the worst draft pick of all time (all things factored) attached to their names in the NFL history books. Until you solve that, nothing matters.
  15. Perfectly reasonable position. Especially in the current sports media landscape where it has become intertwined with social media and that wasteland of constant grifting.
  16. Fox's last year was pretty awful. He was already packed up and had 1 foot out the door. Who ever was the post- Rivera interim was mostly forgettable. So much that I have already forgotten his name. Ferrel? Fewer? Whatever. Rhule though is like the 1 ring to rule them all, and in the darkness bind them.
  17. The trade is over and done with and he's gone and he isn't coming back. Turn the page. We've got bigger fish to fry.
  18. I don't think he was a good one to begin with. He was probably the best of a couple willing to take the job under Tepper. Tepper got turned down by Steichen, Johnson, Ryans and who knows how many others before he offered the job to DC. This job was always a retirement fund for anyone willing to take it. Win or lose, you still win.
  19. Can we let Canales have a real QB before we crucify him? We aren't pulling a top coach yet, need to let Dave get a season with an actual QB. I firmly believe if we had just an average QB we have at least a two game lead in the division right now.
  20. Canales has the problem of an amateur lifeguard. He's trying desperately to save the career of a floundering young QB, not realizing that he is being pulled underwater by the kid and that there are 52 other players who are about to be pulled under as well. Sometimes you have to let the one go to save yourself and get to the others.
  21. I know it's hard to believe but there is worse QB play in the NFL currently. Cam Ward Dillon Gabriel(could be done) JJ McCarthy Justin Fields(appears to be done) It's really been quite the year for insanely terrible QB play. IDK about historic but it seems to be far worse at the bottom of the league than I recall.
  22. Frank was a guy who was headed into retirement and was lured into a nightmare setup for big money. Not a victim. Ohh and he worked the owner so hard he is srill getting g paid. He chose that over the fight at QB or with the owner. Easy call You constantly make excuses for Dave but are correct on the front office side. It's both. The DC ended Bryces career is a dead take at this point. It was the plan and they literally tried again this year when he was choking again. DC and Morgan knew what they wanted to do and what Tepper didn't allow the year before. If he wanted Young gone he wouldn't have been working on Young's technique, Tepper wouldn't know the difference. He also would have had another QB option other than Dalton who couldn't finish out a year. And he sure as hell wouldn't have repeated it this year. But he is just a HC right? It's not like a 'QB wisperer' wouldn't be consulted on resigning Dalton or what scrub they brought in... The main problem is Tepper. Dave and Dan are symptoms of that. Neither are good and neither are terrible. Both have shown recent proof they are still on the Bryce train. Dave's time is always going to be short because he was never ready and all the hype was BS. Baker wasn't fixed, he got his head out of his own arse and was put in a good situation again. If Tepper demanded a pass first approach and he allowed that to happen then he is weak AF and is worse than I currently think. Yes he has a boss but you know what the rest of us do with a crappy boss? Whatever we can think of to work that mess while planning the next job option.
  23. Today
  24. Frank got a dude forced on him who couldn't do NFL basics. And we know factually, NFL coaches often are made to do things. We know often they don't get there way. That's called having a job and a boss. Those aren't excuses. People make up this mythical NFL world. Canales LITERALLY ended Bryce's Young's career here 2 games into the Canales era. That is the reality. Then there was that miracle climb out of the grave stupidity that Dan Morgan allowed by not solving the issue like the entire sports world was debating (where would he be traded to and for how much). The "benching to fix him" narrative is comical PR. Every year it's the same poo. Obvious problems are obvious. But we do all these mental gymnastics to pretend the obvious isn't the obvious. It's well documented. The problem was Matt Rhule. Majority of the board spent years spinning it elsewhere. Then the obvious problem was Fitterer. Repeat. Board spent years spinning it elsehwere and deflecting. Obvious problem right now is Bryce Young and the front office that refuses to admit they made one of the worst moves in the history of the NFL. Because when it is finally said and done.....THAT will be a fact. And that fact, will be attached to resume of a lot of people presently employed in the front office of BOA. The main problem is not Canales. And I don't blame him for not trying to win every game he possibly can as ugly as possible in spite of Bryce Young. That carries too high of odds of keeping the main problem the main problem....and screws Canales in the end. Canales will be fired next season if he can't get this group to move off Bryce Young. That's the easiest thing to see.
