  2. I want a high impact player, but a true FS who could qb the secondary might be more effective than we realize. I don't think Moehrig is that guy (I think he is overpaid, however). I want a flashy, high impact player, but we could use defensive qbs at ILB and FS. By upgrading skill AND adding vision and leadership, could we get better than if we added an edge or OT? I am not sure that I believe this myself, but I try to look at things from all perspectives. Here is some devil's advocacy stuff: 1. EDGE-We are freaking out about the pressure we put on the qb from the edge position. However, Jones II and Wonnum missed a total of 22 games. Scourton was a rookie and Princely was a third rounder. Wharton sucked (not sure if he was used properly--a hybrid who can rush from the 5 tech or 3, etc), and this put more pressure on Scourton and the other edge players. This year, we get Jones II, Scourton should continue to evolve with Princely. Perhaps another rookie is not what we need. Maybe a veteran situational pass rusher. 2. OFFENSIVE TACKLE: Of course, we need an OT, but the draft is loaded with OTs that can pass block but struggle in run blocking--so a rookie at LT might not be the answer for a team that wants to run first. What to do? I am not sure. I see Nijman returning after testing the market, but who knows? 3. INSIDE LB: A huge need, regardless of how you spin it. However, I see a few free agents who would be solid here, and I see the second round having a few ILBs with starting potential. I do not see an ILB worth the first round pick unless a freak falls to us. 4. With veteran defensive backs, a young, intelligent FS could fit in nicely. Intelligence is key--like the way Luke made the front 7 better. "A good, intelligent free safety (FS) acts as the "quarterback of the defense" transforming a unit from good to great by acting as the last line of defense, communicating pre-snap adjustments, and anticipating plays before they happen. By reading the quarterback's eyes and diagnosing offensive schemes, an intelligent FS acts as a "centerfielder" who can neutralize deep threats and mitigate errors made by cornerbacks or linebackers."
  3. He's not generational. He's just athletic. He was good in college but so we're others.
  4. I've been confused for awhile why this guy is being considered a mid-round pick by virtually everyone. His measurables with 17 sacks over the past two seasons (8.5 in each) usually puts you at least in 1st round considerations and pretty much a lock to go in the 2nd.
  5. Today
  6. Rich Eisen said he's never in his 22-years at the Combine seen a prospect like Sonny Styles. Also Bailey ran a 4.5 flat. So my early two draft crushes are crushing the Combine and are now completely out of the Panthers reach. Bailey might be a top 5 pick now. Styles won't drop past the top 10.
  7. Nothing against it other than meh feeling. If it’s best for the team it’s the rational and correct approach. No disputing that.
  8. "Making" the playoffs. It felt more like a participation trophy. If the NFL went away from the stupid division winners automatic bid and went strictly by best records (like most sports), the Panthers wouldn't have sniffed the playoffs in that scenario.
  9. You've still got to have a bench play 20-25 minutes a night, but by statistics, yes it's the best 5 man lineup in the NBA by net this season. They have games against Boston x3, NY, Minnesota, Detroit, SA, Orlando, Phx, and Miami x2 in the last 22 games. Projected losses vs Boston 3x, NY, Minnesota, Detroit and SA. That's it, that's the 7 games they are expected to lose the rest of the season. They are favorites against Orlando, Miami and Phoenix.
  10. Hey I'm a draft guy I only post usually on the huddle when it's draft season combine numbers metrics and talent excite me. So forgive me for challenging your draft thoughts I like the conversation.

  12. I think that goes both ways ask how many wins CMC added to the 49ers or if they even have an offense without him. That said I think love is more gifted than CMC in every aspect except catching the football.
  13. I agree. That's what I'm hearing and seeing when I watch his clips the way he moves is Reggie bush like. He's a difference maker athletically. We don't have anyone like that on our roster offensively that just moves like an elite change of direction speed type. He's a first rounder for that reason. Now if everyone is saying he's a first rounder based on talent, we aren't bringing back dowdle, we don't know what we have in brooks or if he will be the same when he returns, Chubba is a fine back let's not act like he does anything at an elite level. He's not super fast break away speed or power change of direction. How would love not even be considered?
  14. My goal in life, find a cozy retirement job where I collect thousands just for consulting for an hour or two per week.
  15. Ashawn is solid but for 12m a year we can find similar production for much less. If we can't find a trade partner, I'd be open to bringing him back at a much lower number but me personally I wanna see more reps for Bobby Brown and Cam Jackson. It is what it is with Tershawn Wharton that was a massive overpay by Morgan and Brandt but his contract is structed to where we can get out pretty clean next offseason so at least let's give him this year to see if he can turn it around.
  16. I just want a legitimate backup in there who can at least add put some pressure on Bryce to not take it for granted that he's the starter no matter what.
  17. It is a pressing need, but there are several pressing needs. I would still think that OL, LB and Safety are just as important, if not more.
  18. Styles is probably a pipe dream at this point. Would love to somehow end up with both CJ Allen and Jacob Rodriguez. The new TD/Luke combo would feed Panther families for a decade.
  19. The things I've been hearing about him is that he's going to be taken in the first round because he is that good. Many analysts believe that he is the best player in the draft.
  20. Strong bounce back, with both teams overcoming deficits.
  21. Your question was "What say you?" My answer was "absolutely not".
  22. Try and keep up lol. Came in with Reich, as Evero’s mentor. I guess mentor. Advisor. Consultant.
  23. If he lasts if hes generational when making the playoffs was the best thing that happened to this franchise for near a decade
  24. Maybe. Just reacting quickly on 1st thought, I feel like why would Dan and Dave get their high scores if they were the bad guys iin a curfew scenario. It would be nice to know. I wonder if they want better hotels, busses, for that matter someone makes them wear a suit or tie and they hate it. No way for me to know I guess I am just yelling at clouds.
  25. That is a convoluted mess. Cut to the end of all that and it comes down to we were picking 9th and wanted to pick 1st because we thought Bryce Young was worthy of that. I am not saying there weren’t fugups before with Burns and CMC and not taking a 1st for Moore and wherever else. Obviously there were some WTF happenings. And some were monumental in their own right. But when the dust settled we were sitting there at 9 with what we came out of all that with and then we did what we did.
  26. The win thing, it is much more than him. They won in spite of him at times. Carried his ass. Over and out at 8-10, and that was 2025. He was 8-9 Dalton lost one, It is so subjective. He played well at times yes but let’s don’t pretend that is really winning. Still under .500. It felt good because we won more than we have in a few sorry years.
  27. I really prefer EDGE in FA than draft, but this man here is going to light up Sunday's for some team. Whoooo.
