  2. Good read overall, I like the author's spin on things and it is a nice overall recap going into preseason (I was out of the country and didn't follow other teams, drafts). My favorite Falcons quote from the article (after trading 2026 1st round pick for Pearce): "The Falcons might also struggle even with Pearce on the roster, which could end up with them sending a top-10 pick to the Rams next year, making the price even more dramatic. The Falcons will have needs next year, and the year after that, and the year after that. Compounding future draft capital to get one guy right now is a risky bet that doesn't pay off as often as teams would like. The logic of "If it works, who cares?" sounds great, but it isn't a smart use of resources. Nobody cares if you spent your paycheck on lottery tickets if you win the lottery, but that doesn't mean it's the correct way for you to use what you have. There are scenarios in which making that sort of plunge makes sense -- going after a potential franchise quarterback or using a small amount of capital to move up a few spots within a round -- but this seems more desperate than calculated." Fontenot is mortgaging the team's future to save his job today! That's just bad football.
  3. one of the songs when it comes on one of my pandora feeds i keep hitting repeat on.
  4. i love these guys. so fun to watch. that guy on the hand percussion is insane. just a weird and interesting texture of sounds and influences they've got going on. someone said it is what a James Bond film would be like if Quentin Tarrintino was controlling the music.

  6. Hard to know if he’s expecting that kinda crazy money on his next contract. I don’t think any team is paying him that again. If he is then I absolutely wouldn’t. IF it’s more reasonable and they’re confident they can agree on extension it starts making sense. Even moreso if he’s open to playing some FS. I doubt it happens but if it does I’d really hope that’s the case
  7. I don't think the stat sheet is why Bryce was good in the AZ game. I don't think it's some incredible performance either, but it was a good game from a QB. He was much weaker in the 2nd half, but he moved the ball pretty well, and was effective in the red zone. He used his legs very well too. Philly was not a great game for him though. Lots of bad throws, but a few great ones (including the drop, lol) I'd say that since returning from benching he was on the low end of a top 10 QB. He needs to continue to improve and show consistency within and between games.
  8. sure, I mean, rental win now guys are good. but what we needed to be doing, was developing and trying to find a young DB to play across Horn. Because we weren't a win now team.
  9. I just don't think the team has to take a swing on an expensive CB unless Horn is already hurt or if JR will play free safety in that black hole of tallent at thst position. It would be a terrible sign if they spend draft capital on buying an older and expensive CB, anything before a 6th really. This team is trying to hit .500 for the first time in years and still wouldn't be a contender with JR on the roster. They have 2 good CBs and the young guys have to step up or this build is going nowhere.
  10. Respectfully man I think you’re making a lot of assumptions, granted this whole situation is a total hypothetical. I get where you’re coming from, paying an older corner is not always ideal. But my simplest rebuttal would be any sort of extension would likely buffer that $25 million. And at the same time if he was extended it would likely mean he’s still playing at an elite level, which he is currently playing at. Along with the fact even worst case scenario he walks, we would likely recoup a similarly equivalent comp pick in the next years draft. Trading for Jalen would be an educated risk, personally I lean towards I think it would make sense. Due to the fact that we still have Bryce on his rookie deal and it gives us the flexibility to be a bit more aggressive with roster construction. And I view CB as probably our second biggest weakness outside of Safety currently.
  11. Haven't seen the Canes yet, but I used to go to the Ice Caps minor league games in college. I'm pretty sure my 20 year old redneck self sounded just like that at my first game! XL is becoming a social media phenom! When can we we schedule him an interview with Randy Moss?
  12. An impact player coming in may be correct, but I heard nothing in that feed to indicate it. just my opinion and I’m often wrong though
  13. I trust that the front office and Brandt tilis would workout a reworked contract before we'd make a trade. Those future cap hits are brutal and we have to think about extending Ickey and Bryce in a couple years.
  14. He turns 31 in Oct. He has an out after this season. If he stays on his current contract its at 25 million per and he would turn 32 during that season You dont pay 32 year old corners 25 million dollars. So in all likelihood its a one year rental.
  15. The social media person is probably an intern who was a kid with no idea...now all future Falcons employees will have to have 28-3 in their orientations. They should just treat 28 and 3 in Atlanta like 13 in some buildings...just skip the numbers.
  16. This is pure fuggin GOLD! XL seems like a genuine funny dude, I know I am rooting heavy for him and i hope everyone on this board is too!!! Seems like a hockey fan was born which is also awesome.
  17. Ramsey will play in the league another 3 years minimum, personally I think he has potentially 5 or more left in him. His game was never very reliant on speed, he is a physical run defender who can always transition to safety.
  18. I mean... Pretty sure Morrow being on the ice alone accounted for a lot of Florida's +. Throw in orlovs terrible turnovers and there's about half of the goals Florida scored just between the two of them.
  19. Skinner is a disaster defensively but the guy can score.
  20. Hold onto your butts. Stars are back in the game.
