  2. this article wonders when/if we'll go back to silver pants https://news.sportslogos.net/2026/05/05/nfl-teams-in-need-of-a-uniform-redesign-carolina-panthers/football/
  3. And people still defend Bryce like we can’t just look at the stats to see he’s all time bad
  4. here's the closed captioned version of the Draft day video: https://www.panthers.com/news/inside-the-draft-room-2026-nfl-draft-trades-analytics-monroe-freeling-lee-hunter
  5. Lol they would run him off now with the QB room stuff.
  6. lot of newer huddlers would potentially be shocked to learn that the team’s current GM used to be a poster here until a certain egomaniac ran him off
  7. gonna be interesting to see if tyler shough was a flash or real. in 9 games I admit he looked good, but I mean theres so many times when a qb came in lit it up for a bit and when the nfl figured them out they were busts. Sam Howell just the other year, first 9 games of 2023 (same number Shough started) 2500 yards passing, 14 tds, 9 INTS (1 game had 4 though so honestly closer to 14-5), and now basically bouncing around as a backup or practice squadder. Or Kyle Allen, or Matt Flynn. These things happen, I just think a lot of people are way to high on him.
  8. Stat card from Ottawa series... ... Slavin...
  9. I guess it was baked into the business of keeping him for the fourth year. These agents seem to think you have to be under contract for at least two years or you don’t have one. I think that’ bullshit but they don’t ask me. And the keeping him for the fourth year, given the lay of the land around the league and in the draft this year, QB wise, was not favorable to the idea replacing him. But if he doesn’t turn in a 25 million dollar worthy performance this year they need to cut bait. Me? I would have cut bait in 2024.
  10. Today
  11. I joined in 2014 after lurking for several years. Man those first several years were fuging amazing for the huddle, lot of great and funny posters who are now gone like SCP, phillyB, had Huddle "premium" with training camp write ups and photos/video, etc. Sucks that Igo just gave up on the place. I still come here first for panthers news and discussion but it's been way less than in the past. hopefully someone like big kat can revive this place,
  12. I feel bad giving him $25m or so for one season because in my mind, he has not earned it. However, you have to know what you have in your hand and decide if you can still win the pot or its time to toss them back to the dealer.
  13. i don't know what the old or prior site was, but everyone migrated here. Been around since 2005. We used to do the football game at camp.
  14. Yeah I remember his first year. All the excuses. All ‘his’ people saying well Peyton Manning and whoever else had horrible rookie years. As if he was Peyton Manning. Lol. So weak. No comparison ever to any bust ever, who I am pretty sure also had horrible rookie years. Who else got 4 years after the kind of performance he has turned in? Anybody? Even three.. Forget the rooms, where is an honest QB power ranking list? Where does he sit there? How many rookies have come to bad teams and passed him on that list since he has been in the league? I swear if he doesn’t light it up this year and they don’t make a change I will be gone. Rather watch competitive knitting or something.
  15. I liked him too and refused to judge him for 2024 after the way they devalued his part of the roster. But some of these 3rd down defenses and ridiculous cushions are just bad. Raise the white flag bad. If we keep seeng that he needs to go.
  16. I'd take basically anything for XL at this point.
  17. I mean regardless of your view of Bryce our depth is terrible.
  18. Assuming everyone stays healthy, this defense should easily be top 10 and if not, some players need to be traded. Wallace and Scott are the only liabilities and Wallace has looked decent at times.
  19. Things are kind of weird with beat writers these days. Dave O’Brien who was the Braves guy at The Athletic retired months ago, like Jan or Feb, and they finally replaced him. The first content dropped yesterday. Months without any kind of focused coverage. Could be something similar in play here. They have two months before camps start where really there isn’t a ton to cover. Newton doesn’t bother me much though, I generally ignore ESPN. The stuff they were saying in reaction to Bryce’s benching in early 2024 was pretty sad. Last nerve material from people like Rex Ryan and several other highly placed voices over there back then.
  20. He still has his bio up at ESPN https://espnpressroom.com/us/bios/david-newton/
  21. I really don’t understand the urgency at TE. Or to cut bait with XL. Are people thinking that because Cam did so well with Olsen that Bryce would do the same? I don’t, at all (and Kmet is no Olsen). We are not Air Coryell or Air Chud, hell we aren’t even Air Shula. We are a lot closer to Air Check it Down. Re XL, you need depth at WR. We should at least see what camp looks like before cutting bait on him. Make sure everyone is healthy and see what he looks like. What his attitude is, if he is working hard, all that stuff.
  22. I mean you technically have to count his rookie year but in all honesty last year was more like year 2 for Young. His rookie year was such a sh*t show. None of his WRs from that year are in the NFL. Worst OG performances in NFL History and the coach got fired 11 games in. That's about as bad a scenario can get for a rookie QB Josh Allen also had some serious doubters his first couple seasons. He only threw for 3,089 yards his 2nd season before making the jump. Young has to continue to improve and now that he's in the same system for a 3rd consecutive year he may keep showing improvement. And if he doesn't we should he in prime position to snag a top prospect next year
  23. He's the proverbial turd in the toilet that just won't flush. 'round n 'round and pops back up again.
  24. It seemed obvious from the start. Reich was fired because he pushed back on the QB. Wanted Bryce to sit behind Andy. Pretty sure. Where I differ from a lot of people is that I never felt like Canales’ situation was dependent on successfully developing Bryce. I thought that was unreasonable and if he failed with Bryce it should be on Bryce and not on Canales, and he should get a chance with another QB. But that is not as good a bet as thinking the both of them were hired with the condition that Bryce had to be given every opportunity. That seems a given. I tell you, if Canales can make Bryce into even an average starter he is a miracle worker and should be in the QB coaching HOF.
  25. I've been saying this for quite a while. There a pattern involved in all the transactions and camp/season activity that doesn't make sense unless you factor in than the GM/coach have been overruled from above. I remember that during the hiring process it was widely rumored that Bryce had to be the guy as part of the hiring process and him staying there was a condition. Whether that's true or not, who knows for certain, but it does fall in line with a lot of the moves we've made regarding our QB room over the last 3 off seasons.
