Top 10 defense by mid-season, barring injuries.

I think the highlighted portion of your post is a reasonable expectation. The above stat would average out to just over 1 TD pass per game and twice as many TD's as INT's. This team is built to run the football, so I'm not expecting Bryce to light up the stat sheet each week. If can complete 60% of his passes, make 2-3 big time passing plays a week, reach the 3,400-3,500 yard mark, and finish the season with your stat line, then we should be competitive week in and week out.

I’m expecting a breakout season from Ja'tavion Sanders
LinvilleGorge replied to Car123's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because they signed him to an appropriate contract. His deal is in the range of a #3 TE who is probably expected to make the roster but if he doesn't, oh well. It's not gonna hurt us much at all to cut bait on him. That's who Ian Thomas is as an NFL player. A guy who should be bouncing around the league trying to make it as a bottom of the roster type of player. Not a guy that you sign to a mid-level starter type of contract like the Panthers did. -

is it an excuse that the ice melted because it sat on the counter? If we dont improve on the D (and things are looking up there) then it wont matter. We will still be losing more games than we are winning and Bryce isnt enough to lift the team above that -
We just did something about the D, did you miss the free agency and the draft?

I’m expecting a breakout season from Ja'tavion Sanders
LinvilleGorge replied to Car123's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hope so. I liked him coming into the draft but then he hit the field and looked utterly lost and just like he flat out didn't belong and it was like "UH OH. That's not good." But he really showed improvement through the mid-portion of the season before that nasty spill seemed like it just kinda derailed the rest of his season. -
I was 275 when I had mine surgically repaired at age 35. I was back to work in 4 days and full strength in 2 months. I assume they are being ultra cautious with arguably our best player.

I normally root for the Leafs to fail, but I think I'd rather play them if the Canes can get past the Capitals. -
Yeah, the other quote was a little odd but at the end of the day he's a football player not a public speaker. He's a veteran player who is one of the best on the league at his position and there's been no coaching or defensive scheme change so yeah, it's understandable why his goal is simply about being out there on opening day. For a guy like him OTAs and training camp aren't the goal. It's about the games that count.

Like I said the wording of persons piece was odd. This is good news
-
He apparently put on weight to play at A&M and lost a step because he was asked to play differently. He's trimmed down and allegedly gained that step back. He had significant production "lighter" and "heavier" but he fits our defense better in the "lighter" version. I think it is a solid pick and time will tell.

Maybe this is nothing? These are pretty recent.

cinematic is a good way to describe their sound. very loose musical comparison, but as far as the ability to fill the aural spaces of the atmosphere i would compare them to tame impala, radiohead and pink floyd.

My dad's a Raiders fan who has been hearing me bitch about Ian Thomas for years. When I told him the Raiders signed him he stopped for a minute, then realized I wasn't joking and said "now why the hell would they go and do that?" -
Ok. That's fair. He doesn't have to be elite to win a super bowl though. Just clutch. See Jalen Hurts. I know they gave up a lot for a non-elite QB, but that's a sunk cost. Can't keep getting distracted by that. Hopefully, he continues to improve on the things he can do.
-
it's them being cautious. totally understandable.
-
that could just be his way of saying "y'all just don't need to be worrying about that" until there's something to panic over, i'm chill. and there's nothing to panic over at the moment. there's no need to rush it back and/or think that he's not doing everything that is needed to get him back and ready day 1.
-
Well we have a cautionary tale still on the roster in Brooks, so extra precaution seems a foregone conclusion. Duh.
-
Hopefully this is just the coaching staff being cautious and keeping him out of camp. Doesnt sound great though.
-
zod made an appearance and did some work. he was the only one who was able to stop it. the hope is that we will have a couple mods with admin powers sometime this summer. we'll see, but no one is happier to see the spammers stopped than us mods. it shut down new registration across the board, but that's ok.

JJ McCarthy had a 2nd surgery in November and he's expected to be a full participant in offseason stuff.
-
Honestly it's a little odd that there seems to be any doubt that he'd be ready for the start of the season. Reasonable expectations based on normal recovery timeframe from that injury would've had him expected to be a full participant in OTAs.

Every injury is different but Karl Anthony Towns came back in a month and a half in 2024 from a partial tear and surgery. https://www.nba.com/news/karl-anthony-towns-return-timberwolves-april-12
