REPORT: Cade Mays will hit the free-agent market
SmokinwithWilly replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
So who we starting by week 7? Relying on Corbett is like being a 5 dollar scratcher to pay your mortgage and BC is coming off an Achilles. Those aren't immeduate full speed recoveries most of the time. I'd be really worried if the most reliable player was a center off the Ravens PS. -
Rooney. They were never going to hire a DC there with that number one pick. We gotta figure a way to get him a HC job somewhere.

I’d be saying no brainer in a different sense. Like, they have no brain. 2022-2025 we went 2nd, 2nd, 1st, 1st. We may end up with one on the team this year. After giving away all that stuff for Bryce and throwing away 2 2nds and likely a late 1st, do something constructive with a pick for a change. If he is there and BPA, trade out of the pick. Get something extra, drop back a few slots. Take BPA at the new slot. -
Looks like Evero is not going anywhere. The Raiders have narrowed down their search to two offensive coordinators.

The Belichick missing out in the first ballot, leaked. Now I see it has leaked that Eli is outside looking in. Luke? If he didn’t make it I’ll be making a list.

Browns need to either hire an actual hamster and base their decisions on what squares he runs to on a tiny hamster sized grid, or, crowdsource the job. Instead of paying a coach, people pay you and get to vote on game plans, practice schedules, and for both the offense and defense play calls each week. Or...they could contact EA and make an AI head coach using the "Ask Madden" function from the games. Thats the best they can hope for.
-
Either, people want to delay so him and Tom make it the same year (dumb) or voters realized that the Panthers were the deserving winner in 2004 and that they only won because they knew every signal used in the first half (brilliant and honorable protest for all of us). In all seriousness, its a really, really bad look that he wasn't a 100% vote getter. He's the type of dude that once he does get voted in, he may just tell the HOF and NFL to go fug themselves.

Tillis is terrific I'm happy we have him - Today

They're gonna just have to start signing these kids to binding contracts with negotiated buyouts. That's where this is all headed.

Were you sad when Duke stole Mensah from Tulane?

RR was a good coach. Probably the best coach we have ever had here..

Stick with day 2. Seems to me that first round centers don’t hit as much as taking the top Cs in round 2. Usually some combine great number(s) is the case and the 1st round C is over-drafted. We could have drafted McCoy, Humphrey or Frazier in the 2nd in the past several drafts over the crap we did take. Seems like that opportunity is every couple years and it’s been a couple years since Frazier. Not sure what the draft class for Cs looks like but I’d be happy with a C on day 2 if there are talented guys available. I don’t think it’ll be hard to upgrade C with a solid prospect. -
So Belichick didn’t make the hall of fame…what the actual fug? I hated those Patriots teams as much as the next guy but come on. Anybody who didn’t vote for him should not get to vote for the HOF ever again.

I expect us to be very active in Free Agency and will address most of our positions of need there. Doing so gives us the opportunity to draft BPA. I do believe we will be in the position to get a solid ILB at 19. -
This would be my take. If we could extend him through 27 or 28 it would help us a lot. I would also like to see more of Thorton. I know he's on IR but he has such a good training camp I can only believe he's only going to get better.

We need a veteran speed WR, I don’t want anymore big body young receivers. We also can’t afford to pass on defense -

When a great center is available, drop the first rounder on them and don't sweat worrying over it. If you can lead your line, have someone call protections and protect the QB all in one, it's money well spent and can carry you for a decade or more. Is this that time for drafting? I really don't know. -

I trust Tillis to correctly evaluate the market and player worth financially. It's easy to armchair QB. If we had a much higher grade on a RB in the 2nd than a center, then you follow your board. -

I don't think Bryce can utilize a tight end so I don't want to waste a 1st round pick on one -
I literally LOL when he said that! As much as I hate to admit it, as much as I hated Brady as a player, I kind of like him as an announcer. Greg is still much better!
