oh i'm sure the jags will be favored, but it's mainly just based on optics. nothing substantive at this point. i mean how could it be anything but that? it is funny to hear jags fans talk about this game being a gimme for them. do they need to be reminded that the second half of the season last year the only games they won were against the titans. while they picked up hunter in the draft...i mean is that one guy going to be THE difference between winning and losing this year? who else did they pick up? dynami brown? ok...nice pick up, but again...is it enough to drastically turn things around? also, trevor lawrence. when was the last impressive game he had? and with a new coach? i just don't see any reason for much optimism.

OKC lost Durant, Harden & Westbrook. They play in the one of the smallest markets in the league, and have never won the lottery. They play in the tougher conference. And now they're in the NBA finals. We have no excuse.

Also guys. It’s this simple vs Florida. They are bigger and better. Better all around with forwards. Better on defense minus Slavin. Better in goal. We need size and talent and a 100 point scorer. All those can be addressed with 30 mill in cap space. Florida is just better. It’s that simple.
-
they are the defending champs for a reason. would you be upset getting beaten up by the chiefs or eagles in the championship game? if teams like that were easy to build, everyone would have one.

J I Most likely trade target for a potential upgrade would be John Gibson from the Ducks

If Mays had not played well last year, I and credit Hunt and Lewis for some of that, he would have done something at C--not a great draft for it. I guess he figured that we could get by with Mays and Corbett for a season. I hope Mays continues to improve.

I guess stranger things have happened, but they just signed Freddie to an extension, so I’d be surprised if he’s not back. I guess he’d be included on the trade for another goalie.
-
I am all for playing vets in their primes, but when they show signs of going on the decline, cut them and develop some young players. I really think they are doing this with the OL--the only reason we kept Corbett, the way I understand it, is due to the contract--it was not beneficial to cut him. Might as well see what he has left and then make the move.

It’s this simple. No more Burns. Orlov can fug right off. He is gone. Roslavic is gone. KK with a dumb stupid penalty that swung the momentum. That guy is done on this team. Robinson is probably gone. I’m not sure Janko is back. Taylor Hall kinda looks like a mistake out there. The guy was terrible in Washington and esp this series. Here is how the team will look next year with open Holes. We need a top line elite shooter with aho. We need a 2nd line center sooo bad its hurts. Staal line is fine for what it is. That 4th line needs another center unless stank plays it. Slavin needs a top guy with him. Boom will slot with chatty and might as well run it back with ghost and Walker. Goalie is going to be tough. It’s freddie and koochie until Freddie gets hurt. I wouldn’t be shocked if they trade for a Saros or Sorokin and let Freddie go. I don’t see this team moving on from koochie. Jarvis Aho ——— svech ———-hall carrier Staal Martnook Blake Stank ——- Slavin ———— Nikishin Chatfield Ghost Waker freddie—for now Koochie

Bryce Young has pretty much been the definition of a slower starter going into every season. I frankly don't like the fact the "easy" games are upfront. plus, the flip side is the Jags are talking about us just like we are them. And I think they have more proven explosive offensive players. I think at best, it's a coin flip opener. Jags probably will be favored by Vegas.

Getting annihilated in the final four 3x and choking away leads in elimination games certainly does!

making the final four sucks!

if you got it, flaunt it.

Maybe, but the oline is a veteran group. That will help a lot. And there are some veteran skill players, mainly Chubb, Dowdle, and Thielen. My guess is that we will lean on them while the younger guys learn the ropes.

Canes vs Panthers Rd 3 Game 5 8pm

I don't think we are having Morrow start in our top 6 next year unless free agency goes truly awful for us. Our front office (or at least Rod) would rather have Burns than Morrow -

Many of the talking heads at the beginning of the season thought we'd have a season like New Jersey where we'd make the playoffs but get bounced pretty early. We did take a step back defensively, and lost TT and Noesen. We could have used his net presence this year. I think what hurt us the last few years is the 2nd line center spot. I was happy to see Svech and Aho have a good playoff run. That didn't happen last year. We bolster the defense, get a 2nd line C, and find a grit guy to screen the goalie on PPs we should be right where we want to be. I also think if I was the Hurricanes brass, I'd be having conversations with Rod about coaching changes. Gleason is about the only one I'd consider safe. PP has to get better regardless of roster, and if PK is the dude of the future, he has to improve.

LOL So we can retread another beat to death head coach? NAAAHHH. I'd rather not take the road the Bruins took.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... when your star player is a wide receiver, you've got problems. When it's a receiver with a reputation for being difficult to work with, it's even worse. Couldn't have happened to a better team. I'm still bitter about 2003.

Probably hoping the meme will blow over in time. That would just cement it.
