  1. Past hour
  2. I think we got great value on Scourton we owe TAMU a thank you for misusing him and hurting his draft value. He looked like a 1st rounder for sure and potentially a high 1st rounder playing lighter at Purdue.
  3. The draft is so difficult, you can't really afford to make poorly calculated misses. Every GM is going to draft busts, because the bust rate in the NFL is high. I'd rather reach on a risky player at a more valuable position than RB. Hitting on a 2nd round RB probably isn't going to make a dent in the win column for a team with so many holes at more important positions.
  4. Is there any word on his injury status? google doesnt have anything current on him
  5. And its two fold from there, we knew we were going to stink next year, we knew he wasnt going to play right away and we knew the 2025 rb class was absolutely fuging loaded. So none of it made a lick of sense
  6. Here for the lively debate but don’t devolve into “you don’t know the game” stuff. ..with that PSA over, I lean more to the it was a mistake camp myself. It wasn’t a good move. Many people reference Frazier but it is was a few guys. I thought Sainristil would have been perfect for us. Although I will say, I don’t mind taking RBs high depending on the talent. It was him being injured and his talent relative to the other RBs in his tier that makes me less than thrilled about it.
  7. If you're insinuating Bryce Young is the only player people here have been critical of we don't even need to discuss any further because folks who have actually seen the threads knows that's factually incorrect. That's the issue and where the disconnect begins. You perceive an honest assessment and basic straightforward acknowledgment that while we can like the player on a personal level ultimately the pick was a mistake given what we know now and the other prospects that were available. None of that is the personal slight you perceive it to be. Honest discussion is not doom and gloom. If someone wants to reject the reality that is front of them in favor of another that is more convenient for their POV that is certainly their prerogative. What I'm trying to tell you is you are never going to find the dialogue you seek as long as this is your basis for the framework of discussion about our team. I'm not asking you to leave. I do believe you bring legitimate value here. I'm simply offering you an alternative if you insist on rolling out this same approach when the season rolls out. Because although optimism is high right now sooner or later we might hit a bump in the road. And conversations will likely get the opposite of glowing positivity. But that's alright. That's the rollercoaster of sports fandom. We'll survive.
  8. Wallace has been getting some serious mentoring from TD and a bit from Kuechly as well. Both have been sitting down with him looking at tape.
  9. Its completely and utterly bootlicking at this point. If you cannot acknowledge that using 3 picks on a rb with a torn acl in the 2nd round isnt a bad pick then [mod edit: we are no where seeing eye to eye]. And its insanely laughable you are trying to strawman this argument using other players. And what fuging facts are you bringing that is justifing morgan using 3 goddamn picks on him? I cannot wait to hear that.
  10. Scourton's interviews are telling to me that it's only a matter of time before he could really put it together. His limitation tool-wise that I see is in his bend, but at the leaner size, it looks like it wasn't a problem at Purdue. He has a good moveset and reads leverages very well (vet level well). Plays both the speed/quickness (great change of direction) and has a power game with good hand usage. Moves from what I've seen in my digs: I'm seeing cross-chop, fake crossers into bull, bull rush, spin (his preferred move of choice), hand shuck. He's not unrefined by any means. If he can do 2 things---I'm feeling confident from seeing his interviews that we have a real dude on our hands: 1) Diversifying his moveset/how it's deployed - Over-reliant on some, but again, he has a growing palette. And is already great with his hands so things are in-place to coach up. 2) Developing a counter moveset and starting to play the chess game with an OT - He's very good at reading leverage, knowing when to change things up during a play. But NFL coaching should start to teach him how to really create a plan based on an opponent. What to throw at a guy first, how to confuse with fakes/counters, etc. How to play against these tackles as a game progresses. Overall, he has some things that give me serious optimism: Run Defense, speed moves, power moves, he's super young and has the size/length. When you really spell it all out, I think we should get excited. Temper expectations from a stat sheet standpoint, but he should be able to go in and make an impact.
  11. Today
  12. Scourton may not get double digit sacks, but he won't be a liability on every other down
  13. Apparently the weight stuff was a little over blown but that being said A&M obviously had no idea how to use d line and going from Purdue to SEC is a big jump. I wouldn’t expect 6+ sacks this year and that’s ok. He’s super young and will keep improving
  14. Lost your pie with that landing. You are incorrect. Go back and watch Purdue. Bro is nasty with a motor on Nos!
  15. Ironic that out of all of the multiple players listed, you zeroed in on Bryce Young and only Bryce Young. No mention of Derrick Brown or Jaycee Horn... Hell, we can even add Icky to the mix but sure... let's laser-focus on Bryce. That's a hell of a mirror for you to run into. I'm not sure what "wisdom" you think you're imparting to the front office beyond the idea that the being Panthers means that they're destined to suck forever. That doesn't exactly sound like wisdom as much as it sounds like the same relentless doompilling you've been committed to. But sure, let's pretend it's "rational" to condemn a pick after limited rookie action and an injury setback (and that anything less than full-blown pessimism is bootlicking). That's certainly the lighthouse we all need in the storm that you insist is eternal... at least until you and only you, decide it's not. Unlike you, I'm not asking anyone to leave. I'll just keep showing up with facts and context. You're more than welcome to keep showing up with doom and gloom.
  16. So you don’t think with his weight down /position more similar to what it was in 2023 he’s capable of 10+sacks? I don’t watch college football so just going off the write ups, like getting the opinions from folks who do
  17. I'm excited for Scourton. Even if the sack numbers aren't there right away, he'll contribute and has a certain floor IMO. Would be thrilled if he can turn into a Charles Johnson-type contributor one day. Never a star (though, please do), but reliable and damn good at what he does.
  18. when it does, they will increase the number of games to 18.
  19. Yup, and they will end up with a top 5 pick in an apparently deep (for now) 2026 QB class. Knowing our luck, if we decide to move on from Bryce in two years, it will likely be a thin QB class.
  20. https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2025/story/_/id/45025476/2025-nfl-draft-ranking-rookie-year-impact-mid-late-rounders Full disclosure, was not at all a fan of this pick in the 2nd BECAUSE I generally view him as being very limited in his pass rush ability. That said, he does have the makeup to be very capable of replacing Clowney, long term.
  21. I mean, Legette is tracking as more of a #4/5 WR than a #1 WR at the moment.
  22. So dumb I get it, they want to expand the reach of the NFL, but it's not the right sport to be playing games halfway around the world for a variety of reasons. But one of the main ones is what happens if a player has an injury in that game? A lot of times, you're not supposed to fly right after some injuries, so when they happen here it's not a big deal, the player stays in that town for a few days and then flys home separately. But that opens a whole bag of worms if the game is played all the way out in Australia. Plus just needing that long of a flight to get out there and back, even if they get a bye week after, it means a ton of travel and needing to adjust to a new time zone directly after another game.
  23. I don't think it was fear of the unknown because he tried to hide the extent of the injuries that made him drop. After the drop, the reports I heard were that teams knew what was wrong with his knee and it was something similar to another athlete from a few years ago (honestly don't remember if it was even a football player). That it was basically one of those things where he should be fine for a while, there isn't a huge concern of immediate injury risk. But what he has going on with his knee is something that is degenerative and there's little chance he'll be able to play more than 5 or so years on it before he won't be able to play anymore. So basically it was teams knowing if they draft him, he's probably going to be only a rookie contract player and even if he's great, you might not be able to get use out of him on a second contract. Which in turn makes the drop make sense, but I'm kinda surprised some contending team didn't take him late in the 1st, hoping he'd put them over the top on a SB run but then not even have to worry about giving him a big contract in 4 years too.
