IMO the NFL has shown they'll keep tweaking the rules to benefit offense. They want high flying high scoring games because that style of football draws more casual viewers. That's not to say you can't still win with stingy defense and good enough offense but you have to realize that the NFL will be actively working against you from a rules standpoint.

They said he was going to be active. The running back thing, we are going to miss Chuba pass blocking I think but maybe Etienne can show some moves. I believe he has some. Also I said this elsewhere but the downfield shots vs the 3rd and long handoffs rather than trusting the QB that was complained about here, was addressed in an Athletic article by Person. With Legette back I am expecting some Russel Wilson type downfield prayers to be tried this week.

You can’t fire a coach this early again Ron Rivera with Cam Newton and Luke was 2 and 8 at one point during his second year. You have to let the whole season play out and see how things go towards the end and if Bryce ain’t it, he ain’t it and Dave will get his chance to get his own quarterback.

I think we were both Wilks advocates, and yeah. Except for the couple good games Andy played and the one standout Bryce game last year, it is the best the team has looked in years. I mean we’re we gonna be champs? No. Were the top teams a lot better than we were? Yep. It was something to build on and we threw all of the things we had in front of us, cap space, draft picks, etc, and Sam is better than a Bryce will ever be, we threw it all away to chase a trend. Not to Set a trend but just to be in with the cool kids. And proved we had no idea what we were doing.

Not sure if Miami having a bad D really is going to matter though. Cards, Patriots, and Jags all have worse pass defenses to date (but I do think Miami has secondary injuries).

What about Jimmy Horn? Shouldn't he be in the mix?

I mean agreed. Plenty more games to playout to see Canales grow as a HC. Wanted to give everyone a list of what this hiring cycle looks like to help. Too early to make these decisions. Im sort of indifferent on Canales right now. Don’t hate him, don’t love him. Could we upgrade? Maybe. Could we downgrade? Absolutely. I think we’ll have more options this year as we aren’t likely gonna force Bryce on a HC and our roster, while still bad, isn’t as bad as it was last search. Well it appears nearly all of our offensive rookies will be getting substantial playing time. McMillan, Etienne, Evans Miami's defense is crap - 2nd worst in 3rd down conversion %, 26th in yards per game, no real threats. Will be interested to see if anyone makes noise. Or maybe Chop Robinson just destroys us lol.
