Won't matter without better talent at linebacker

The coaching pool this year is really bad. Too much retread of failed coaches and not enough new blood.

I like OT Lomu as a prospect if he's still there. He's young and needs bulking and seasoning, definitely a project year 1 and why we need to re-sign Yosh and/or other LT. If Ickey is done or he comes back less than his prior self, we can move him to RT or guard. We got to have a plan in place.

Burns objectively improved in 2024. Stats aren't the only litmus test, though important. I don't think anyone is saying he was all-world while with us, but he was good and ascending, and arguably not even in his prime (and I think that's the main point as far as some are concerned). Now, he is squarely in his prime. -
Agree with all of that...I think folks are discounting that they had a monster oline , chubbs, hunt, baker, obj, Myles Garrett and some really good rosters and couldn't figure it out... I don't get the fear that he's going to in Atlanta

If nothing styles please trade out

Yes, the top OT is going to be there at #19. Suuuuuure. Styles is getting more buzz now than Reese. I'm not saying that he's getting drafted before Reese, but that these a lot of talk about him. I will say he's probably going before Allen, who will likely be the best OLB remaining at #19. Several mocks have Bailey going to the Saints and Tampa taking Styles, so two of my favorite guys may be going to our arch rivals. Yay!!! Good thing the Falcons don't have one because they would take one of the remaining guys I like.

MCDERMOTT edit not sure if what I saw was true about him being fired

I wish we could bring back McDermott at Dcord

Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't pay critical attention to anyone but the Panthers, but I will do research on occasion and keep abreast of the NFL in general. Certain things pique my interest, like why results are at odds with what some people are trying to sell. As for your question, It's not that they were literally out of position, but more about scheme fit and play calling. Baker didn't believe that Stefanski was supportive enough. Hopefully this isn't behind a paywall for you. https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2022/01/browns-qb-baker-mayfield-must-resolve-his-differences-with-kevin-stefanski-soon-in-case-they-need-to-co-exist-next-season-mary-kay-cabot.html Now I'm sure that you already know about all the OBJ drama. Unfortunately paywalls are a thing, but here is a direct quote from NFL.com and Kevin Patra: "Stefanski's scheme also didn't play to OBJ's strength. The timing offense predicated on wideouts being at a specific spot and the QB reading the progression negated some of what made Beckham a star in New York." https://www.nfl.com/news/browns-planning-to-release-wr-odell-beckham In general, some fans---not all---think that Stefanski's offense minimizes receivers' production, pointing to several pairings, OBJ and Jarvis Landry most notably. And, to be honest, the dropoffs in production kinda speak to that. Like you've said, him and Watson had tensions. Whatever you think of Watson as a person, his play regressed. He went from one of the best to one of the worst. Sure, it all could've just been mental or Karma, but more than a few thought that Watson's shotgun style would not work with Stefanskics zone-wide scheme, and it didn't. My thing is, that HCs shouldn't least be willing to do some identifying of problems and strengths, and do at least a little compromising and adapting instead of being so indebted to their scheme that they continue to showcase failure as opposed to trying something different. I just might have higher expectations of what I call a good coach. Sure, all failed coaches have excuses, many that are legitimate, but for me you just can't be stubborn. Real coaching is about adapting for me. You must at least try to adapt to the situation, to your personnel, and to your opponent. Perhaps Stefanski can do these things, but for me it's way too early to be giving him the label "good" or "great" based upon his body of work. In my mind, he's wasted some pretty good defenses due to lack of offensive creativity.

They have about 30,000,000 which is middle of the pack and not a lot of flexibility to restructure more cap. They also have notable free agents to try to resign. -Kaden Elliss -Kyle Pitts -Elijah Wilkinson -Arnold Ebiketie -Leonard Floyd -David Onyemata -Dee Alford -Tyler Allgeier Oh and no first round pick. Bucs will implode next year, Falcons will be rebuilding. It will be us and the Saints fighting it out.

That defensive line is fine, they don't have the players behind them at LB to be really really good against the run. Pff also have his stats wrong, they gave him less sacks, less pressures and less QB hits than any other service or what the NFL officially gave Burns. -

It might, he had 42 stops on the year. So that probably plays a part in it for sure. -
BC cannot be involved in the plan because if Mays gets injured for any reason, we have zero players capable of playing center on the roster. That only works if we also re-sign Corbett, which I am a fan of making that move, provided the price is correct....which is as a backup IOL. Also, expecting BC to suddenly be back to 100% in the middle or end of the season is also unwise, IMO. I think most are going to realize what they did with BC last year, this theoretical free agent market for him is small to nonexistent. I don't think resigning him will be expensive or difficult and we should do so.....as a backup. I would personally try very hard to get Linderbaum and/or draft a center. Preferably with the ability to be a backup guard. I like Mays, as a backup. I do not like him as a starter. I like him more than Corbett as a starter but Corbett as a center was always insanely stupid.

They still haven’t hired a GM yet. Ryan is just the leadership figurehead. They still need to get a GM in the building

If the Texans win today, they are going to have Stidham looking like rookie year Darnold next week. -
The Panthers have swung for the fences a lot since the Teppers have been here.

Spoiler alert: You had so many shrooms you didn't realize the bar was empty and also closed.

While we didn't get the compensation we should have for Burns, it's delusional to act like he was a force when he played for us. He had double digit sacks ONCE as a Panther. Getting rid of him was the right decision. Hell, in 2024 he put up another lackluster season for the Giants. He's been a "great" player for one season. 2025. That's it. -
He saw the sht show early, thats why he retired...doubt he wants anything to do with it.
-
No. I've just watched 3 seasons of Bryce Young masquerading as an NFL QB. There's zero emotion in the statement. He's objectively awful.
