Round 6, Pick 32 (#208) - Jimmy Horn Jr, WR, Colorado
Carolina Cajun replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think if he stays healthy, he'll be a stretch gadget guy. If teams are sitting on short and intermediate routes, throw horn out there for a series or 2 to run fly routes, it'll only take bryce hitting on one to loosen the defense some. - Today

Sounded like Morgan wanted to have a hype phone call moment to end the draft and nobody, including Horn, was nearly as interested in making it happen. -

Something I thought was interesting about the Horn Jr pick. Candles didn't seem very impressed and Dan Morgan wanted "some Miami" in the room/building. I think a difference in perspective between them for late round picks. Dan valued the dang in him, Canales less interested because holes in his game. Note : all this is based on my dumbass reaction to a 10 second snippet. -
I'm genuinely not trying to be abrasive here but I think it is really important not to overstate Adam Thielen's significance to this offense and I get the sense some people are in a bit of a bubble in terms of their perception of his value because they are wearing Panthers shades. And that's fine mind you because it's June. But we should be realistic about some things here. He was the oldest active WR in the league last year and he will be 35 when preseason rolls around this year. We have some nice youth on the roster. We aren't likely to compete for playoffs this year barring a very nice surprise. Either way. Let's develop the young talent. It isn't about this season it's about the next several.

For a roster spot. I could see our WR room consisting of TMac, Theilen, XL, Coker, and Renfrow. Theilen earned his playing time last year. Unless he’s regressed a lot this offseason, I expect he’ll be targeted 5+ times per game early this season. -

Well his name is Horn -
He's seemed irritated on pretty much every apparence I've seen him on so far.
-
Is it just me or did Rod seem completely irritated the whole time?

Burns on the PK was elite. No one can argue that facts. I’m ok bringing Burnzy back being on the 3rd line.

Awww I hope not I'm really rooting for him -
Wants Burns back but admitted they put too much on him by putting him on the first pair and that he should be on 2nd or maybe even third.

I hope our first two picks do better in year one than those two. I was surprised we prioritized a rb over s considering the Brooks pick and the rico fa agency pick up. I'm glad they were true to their board and got their guys. Could be a great draft. -

For a hamstring? You do realize only the Carolina Panthers value washed up receivers like Thielen and Renfrow the way we do right? Other teams are getting results out of younger receivers because they actually know how to develop young talent. That's what we need to be focused on.

Once you get past the top tier (Henry, Barkley, Gibbs, Taylor, Bijan) and get to Kyren/Mixon/A Jones types, that's the tier Chubba could cement his spot in. Level (not style) wise, I can see him producing more long term than a James Conner, Tony Pollard, etc. I think we're staring at two roads. One is the archetype of someone who was good/deent, popped one year and slowly declined vs. getting to that 3+ year feature back role for a team.

If Renfrow looks good in preseason he could be out of a job here

I tried to put coach of year in a parlay and FanDuel wouldn't allow it probably for that reason. If a high odds qb wins MVP his coach is probably winning coach of year. -
