  1. Past hour
  2. I respectfully disagree. I'm 5'8" tall and I've led men and women that were a lot taller than me - in the military and in football. Actually was voted Team Captain junior and senior years in high school. People respect competence and talent/ability. Now if he's bad at his job, that could actually impact his ability to lead. You can't be out there telling guys to play better when you're the worst player on the field.
  3. Sometimes happens when you start thinking about extending the play / YAC before you have secured the ball.
  4. been listening to a lot of Pete Seeger, Woodie and Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, and Jesse Wells lately. Jesse is something else. i love it. Odetta and Richie Havens are part of my rotation pretty frequently as well. didn't know about Father John Misty. checking him out now.
  5. Not that I believe it's a fans responsibility to coddle a multimillionaire to do his job.... But that's one thing I've hated seeing out of this fanbase about XL. Every single social post with him on it people are hounding him about drops and catching the ball. I think even fans underestimate their ability to get in someone's head to the point that it mentally defines them. Next thing you know he's always thinking about drops instead of naturally making the catch. I'd been thinking this recently, and this article kind of solidified it for me.
  6. What is weird is that drops were never a concern at SC (albeit you have the “it was only one real year” argument), but he caught everything thrown his way unless my drunken memory is misguiding me. Last year was unusual by XL’s standards. I hope he can turn the corner.
  7. Most drops happen because you take your eyes off the ball assuming you'll just catch it from muscle memory. The solution is to see your hands catch the ball. Don't take it for granted. Actually see your hands close on the ball before you do anything else.
  8. He likely has a couple of more offseasons/seasons before he gets polished enough to be an elite WR but with TMac and Coker here, hopefully we have the luxury of allowing him to do that development.
  9. That's why I think we go 4 TE, at the expense of that 10th OL guy. IF Tremble is active against JAX, his reps will surely be limited. We want Sanders to be a pass catching TE, but his blocking is subpar compared to the other 3. Mitchell has been our best TE in preseason games, and I think Evans has potential to surpass Tremble next season. I doubt we have 4 active TE's on game days.
  10. Mind posting a link to a scientific study that states leadership is genetically linked to one's height?
  11. You don’t have to be 6’ and above to be a leader. People respect assertiveness + intelligence. He can get this done if he brings back that guy from the last few games last year and he is consistent in that attitude
  12. Dude would come down with some fantastic snags, even in crunch time so the ability is there. I hope he is plugged in with a sports psychologist. He could be a PROBLEM if/when he develops more confidence.
  13. Very glad to see he is aware and working on it. Now we just need to see the results this season. Hopefully, like he said, with TMac getting the bulk of the targets/attention, it opens up opportunities for him.
  14. Today
  15. "Talking about his rookie drops makes his trademark smile disappear. "'Those were the main ones, the bad ones,' Legette said in an interview with ESPN. 'It affected me in a way; how it made me feel. Just how we lost those games. It could have changed [the outcome].' Legette admitted the drops got into his head. "'It's always gonna be the next-play mentally,' he said. 'But it always will be in the back of my head, trying to focus on catching.''' https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46015325/nfl-carolina-panthers-xavier-legette-tetairoa-mcmillan If I were to give X advice, it would be to continue to work on the mechanics. Make sure you look the ball into your hands and secure it. Everything else will take care of itself. I don't know that thinking about catching balls is the way to go. That could end up as pressing, kind of like the yips for a kicker. Be steadfast about the mechanics and just catch. It becomes just a natural occurrence or consequence of consistently working on the mechanics.
  16. Thompson and Williams ended up being(so far) top 40 players by wAV in that draft. It was a better draft than we gave it credit for at the time, although Funchess being a bust didn't help.
  17. No, my original comment was based on that obviously being a bad takeby him, if he said it.
  18. Gotcha - thought the insinuation was that it was just a message board rumor…just saying that there were actual reports that this was a thing
  19. It's possible that is true, as I said, if it was that doesn't say much for his ability to evaluate QB's. However, if you recall, the Commanders/Johnson situation turned into quite the nasty he said/she said fiasco.
  20. Peters did, they just be talking, also Ben Johnson back out of the interview with the Commanders while they were on the way to the fuging interview. it was never just about the Panthers he is just a dick
  21. LOLOLOLOL For the record, Arch has since come out and said that he hasn't at all decided on what he'll do in regards to the 2026 draft and that his grandfather Arch has called to apologize for miscommunication to the press regarding the matter.
