  1. Past hour
  2. Synchronicity is the key. And it is a frikkin' hard key to get. The teams that have/develop it, win and win big: Chiefs, Eagles, Lions (can you believe I'm saying that?), Bills, Ravens. Teams that only get one or the other going successfully peak at being competitive but sputter out in a couple of seasons... it just can't hold together. And what happens when you have neither one working? I give you the last half decade of the Carolina Panthers.
  3. You need both. For all the poo game plans and bad game day management you had both under Rivera. From those all or nothing videos it was clear to me he had command of the locker room but gave the players who deserved it the power to lead. The problem now is we don't have any Olsen, cam, Luke, TD's who have earned that right to lead. Maybe Brown but that's it.
  4. It’s been a minute since my divorce from the Panthers game day experience and I used to park my tailgate trailer at W Hill St but parking panda doesn’t exist anymore. anyone know how to find tailgating spots for the season where you can set up a tailgate trailer
  5. I saw this on twitter (2) Deuce on X: "Kon Knueppel after his rookie season in the Charlotte Hornets locker room https://t.co/pVfiEw01Zm" / X
  6. Which is what I hope we have happening. Canales established a new culture in house, we rid ourselves of the Rhule era and the brief hiccup that was Frankie. And now with his own thing in place, he’s created the landscape for guys like Bryce, Hunt, McMillan, Brown, Horn and others to make it an even better thing to be a part of
  7. If roles are clearly defined and boundaries are established, and good culture comes from a healthy mix of both. For example - a great coach can be the catalyst for establishing a baseline culture, but the right player in a leadership role can take that and bring it to an even greater level.
  8. JAG? Renfrow? Renfrow is a stylin, profiln, limousine riding, jet flying, kiss stealing, wheeling and dealing son of a gun. A living and breathing Carolina legend.
  9. Today
  10. He flunked a physical (allegedly), clearly didn't want to be here, and was in the last year of his contract. I'm actually surprised they were still able to get a couple of first rounders for him.
  11. I get that, but not a lot of UFA top RHDs out there, unless you want to give Eckblad $9-10M. Matter of fact, Eckblad may be the only top line D-man who's unrestricted. Better look for a trade somewhere.
  12. But tbh, even if we took Ace, he would force his way out or be injured all the time or immediately leave when his contract was up after half-assing here then go on to be an all-star elsewhere. I see all these people now saying we need to trade LaMelo, but we’ve seen this movie before. He can’t stay healthy - then we trade him and he lives up to all of his potential while we poo the bed with whatever assets we got back for him and end up with nothing. It’s the Hornets and Panthers way.
  13. Great article on BY!https://www.yahoo.com/sports/article/panthers-film-review-bryce-youngs-153036736.html
  14. I just thought we could have gotten more for Mark Williams. Not sure why they were dead set on trading him. Even more pissed we took back that bum micic
  15. I don't agree, but your remark was funny as hell. I knew that people were going to reject "leave our mark," simply because they hate change. Add in the emotional Sam Mills aspect of it, and "keep pounding" is sacred to so many Panthers fans. Sometimes change is warranted however, so If they come out with a jacket or hat or something, I'm on it.
  16. Low expectations and putting JAG on a pedestal. I guess I can understand. We've been in a bit of a desert of talent-rich wide receivers. I received a lot of smoke for trying to tell people that Philly Brown was JAG. Oh how so many Huddlers loved them some Philly...
  17. I thought they had a pretty good draft last night. Hornets were dead last in shooting and three pointers. They drafted two guys that can shoot.
  18. Ok you've convinced me to go ahead and order my Hunter Renfrow jersey.
  19. I always thought they should have one thing on highway etiquette and safety in the driver's ed programs. Doesn't even need to be on the actual exam. But if people just learned the basics at 15/16, after 10-20 years I think there would be enough of them on the road to help. Not just what the lanes are for but how to (and not to) drive with semi trucks.
  20. Didn’t realize Renfro did returns! Thank you for that It’s his (Renfro) to lose then, which he won’t.
  21. I don't think Horn should be penciled in our a default returner at all. He had 14 career punt returns in college. That's not much work. Renfrow has 70 NFL PR returns logged. He should be the default guy penciled in IMO Sometimes the priority is just can you not turn it over. You see rookies choke a lot at the NFL level or guys you try to make return guys.
  22. I mean, I alluded to it when we signed him. It might be different if he was old and washed up, but he's not. Sickness and suffering will never ever allow you to be your best. Eclipse that and if one has the talent and inclination to thrive, the sky's the limit.
  23. Renfrow makes the team and becomes part of the rotation-- then he plays well. Gets NFL comeback player of the year. You all cheer. When I say, "I called this in June." You will say "Pic or it didn't happen." I will say, "you all disgust me because you are too mired in mediocrity to see my brilliance." You will give me a poo emoji because that is how you treat greatness. OK, I'm back.
  24. I did a little research. I think that it's hard to say that we're a traditionally "small-market" team anymore. Technicalities aside, our fan base is certainly not as popular as some others (lots of fans from different fan bases can probably argue that though), but the Panthers do have a solid and committed following if you look at things like home attendance and---fascinatingly---social media digital presence (e.g., back in 2023 there were three million followers of the Panthers on Twitter, ranking them #5). It's just hard to get exact, up-to-date numbers because much of the relevant information is not forthcoming, but suffice it to say that winning changes things, even if temporarily. Even if the fan base is smaller, it certainly seems to make a lot of noise. We just need to win. On an off note, Tet McMillan has fairly strong rookie jersey sales. Between him, Bryce and Legette, maybe the fan base will grow a little.
  25. I would think so. If things got dire in the RB room, finding someone to match his production ain’t too hard. He made the team based on his ability to not muff a punt and make a decent attempt at a return. I will say it was nice to see someone sure handed back there but I can’t remember a single big return he ever had for us. Horn has to be penciled in as the default returner unless things look really bad at camp. I can see him as being a very special kick return guy.
  26. Staff led culture leads to player led culture.
