  2. The NFC South was so bad it sent a team with a losing record to the Playoffs that year. Wilks had players playing hard at the end but let’s not act like that was a good season. That season hurts even more now that we see in hindsight how good our QB situation was. We just didn’t know it.
  3. I think there may be a difference of opinion of if limit / ceiling refers to typical games or the best possible outting by him. For some ceiling is meant in a career sense (what I think you mean) and others it's in a per game sense. I get both sides... if someone says game manager is a player's ceiling they don't mean they'll never possibly lead a team to victory on their shoulders ever, just not something consistent. But that isn't technically what ceiling refers to usually outside a sports players projections for a career
  4. Nothing you need to know about these bums and there podcast except they gave up on the team earlier in the season quit doing their broadcast (I think after the Patriots loss) and the Panthers are 4-1 since they stopped. Now they want to come back and pretend they are still die hard Panthers fans...
  5. Ah poo; you’re right. I did forget that it could be as many as 3 from one division for the 7 seed. so what the NW takes 5? And we may have a shot against tampa
  6. What do you mean the 3rd divisional wildcard? I just simmed the season and 7th place could very well finish 12-5 that's not going to be anyone from the East or South. San fran la Seattle green bay and Detroit are all going to have very good records that leaves division winners from the East and South. We need to win 10 games to have a shot at the division
  7. We don’t have to worry about the North right now. We just need to beat the NFC least and we have the head to head against Dallas. So long as NY and Washington stay dwelling we will be the third divisional wildcard at a minimum. If not NFC south champs if we split with Tampon Bay and win a few more we “weren’t supposed to”
  8. And Patriots give us a 3rd round pick for Hubbard.
  9. I wouldn't call a half game back "anywhere near playoff positioning" but do agree that the 3 wild card teams are going to have very good records. The bears and niners will probably be in that range for the 7th spot. I think eagles, Packers, Rams, Lions are locks and Seahawks probably as well that means we realistically have to win the South to get in because I don't see a way the bears or niners don't win 10 games
  10. Was just explaining this to some dummy named Willy in another thread. I think he was just smoking’ too much cheese. This has been going on for ages. Trent dilfer got all the ladies and threw just as many interceptions as he did see dem TDs. This was the more violent era of football. The soft mfrs wanna see the passing TDs but the truth is that ain’t what ultimately wins football games. It’s a STRONG D, and an unstoppable run game, with some passes to keep the defense honest, if for a TD great. in fact I would venture to say that the two panthers super bowls consisted of the same except cam threw more tds than interceptions and could run like Jamal Lewis and priest Holmes. its a tale as old as time. Something all ball knowers understand.
  11. This team just traded a 2nd round pick for Bradley Chubbs. Edge, Miami Dolphins.
  12. Ngl, as good as I felt about us after winning yesterday, when they showed the top NFC teams on SNF, I realized what a crazy year this is. The NFC seems uncommonly top heavy. As of today, we aren’t anywhere near playoff positioning, which at 5-4 seems very, very weird compared to most years. I know things will shake out further as the season goes on and it likely won’t look the same, but I have the feeling it’s one of those years that you’ll need like 11 wins to get in as a wildcard. seems very like a very pantherish thing to rebound this year and that’s what it would take.
  13. You’re not, you’re relying on both your QB, your run game, Your defense and your special teams. hence the part where I explained that limiting time of possession by playing ball control offense and defense has been a winning formula in football for a century. sorry.. should have clarified more for the simpletons
  14. The Huddle: "Off with Bryce Young's head"!!! "He sucks cok, I hate him so"!! Ahhh!!
  15. It isn't that far off. He only has 1 game this season with more than 200 passing yards, and in that one game, a lot of it came when the game was out of hand. Among qualified passers, he is 33 out of 34 QBs in Y/A. I think it is fair to say that generally speaking, his ceiling is about 150-170 passing yards. Yeah there will be aberrations but considering he's averaging 176 YPG after 38 games, how can you argue his ceiling is anything else? Only 12 times in 38 games has he cleared 200+. Cam Ward already has 5 such games this year (9 games played). Darnold had 15 in his first 2 years. Not that yards are the be all, end all. But hard to argue his ceiling (on average) is anything else.
  16. Yeah, even on that one twitter video bragging about Bryce tricking them into thinking it was a pass play on 2nd and long on that final drive, Micah Parsons was straight up saying they were playing pass all the way because in the NFL that's a passing down all the way in that situation. They didn't think there was anyway the Panthers were running the football there. Bryce didn't trick anyone. We just did the unthinkable because the unthinkable was a better option than Bryce throwing the football.
  17. Nowhere in the league is a winning formula for the RB and the QB to have matching yardage rushing vs passing. Have you ever heard of multiple 2k yard rushers across the league? How about a 3k, 4k, or 5k yard rusher? Nope? Because they don't exist. Running Rico into the ground is not an effective offensive game plan for the rest of the season. Relying on a running back to carry your team instead of your QB is not long term winning strategy.
  18. Yeah he's the reason we weren't up by td's at that point lol, DC having to get creative just to get into field goal range and then immediately trusted his rookie kicker. to kick a 48 yarder in the wind rather then let Bryce try and complete a couple 5 yard play action passes to get in better position when Green Bay had their whole fuging team in the box to stop Dowdle lol. Twice in a row. If it was already under 40 I'd get just running to set up the hashes but jeez..
