  1. Past hour
  2. Njoku must want a pretty big contract if he hasn’t signed with a team yet
  3. Gotta go with the hot h.. erm... leg...?
  4. Today
  5. They wanted somebody for that Saturday slot, and both games yesterday ending in 6 moved us to Saturday. Wouldn't be surprised if it's like a Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday/Friday setup for us with the lightning Canadians going to game 7. Doubt they want us playing 2 games before the buffalo vs lightning/Canadians play game 1
  6. 3 to 4 of them were pure Ys which are more valued by teams than a lot of other spots now. Everyone wants their own Jackson Hawes. 12 and 13 personnel is abundant. Chicago and JAX got very particular types. 12 personnel was run 25% league wide last year. Huge uptick in the last few seasons.
  7. XL for Michael Mayer straight up.
  8. so i would not be surprised if Carolina signed David Njoku .Carolina seems to be a really popular landing spot for David Njoku & so was Kenyon Sadiq prior to the draft & Njoku would be the guy here in Carolina at tE unlike his situation in Cleveland where he was having to split reps with Fannin ...just saying
  9. It all sounds great. The only unknowns are injuries and how they will need to be addressed. Horn has a history as does the newly added Jaelen Phillips and Cooker has yet to play an entire season as well. And then there are the Ikey's - totally unexpecteded injuries that put a major wrench in your plans. I do think its a great plan though.
  10. If we pay Bryce like a franchise QB we're completely and utterly buttfuged.
  11. In my view, the realistic expectation for this team to compete will start 2027. At that time, I think we could be looking at the following (this is HIGHLY speculative): QB: You know, Bryce. I am not a fan, but they don't ask me. But there is reason for hope--and here it is. Bryce will be entering his prime. Since we are likely to pay him, there will be changes that I include throughout this exercise--I realistically speculate on what they are going to do with Bryce and then I realistically speculate on what means in terms of the cap and other positions. Bryce HAS IMPROVED. The idea is that if you give him more weapons and protection, that will continue. His career: At this rate, if his growth continues, by 2027 we should expect nearly 30 TDs and about 12 Interceptions and a Rating of about 98. His completion percentage should settle at 65-66% or so. If that happens, you can win with it. The following stats demonstrate how the Panthers will be able to afford it (and re-sign Ickey) My guess is they will require about $60m per year. This is why rookies who can play are important. It also helps us see the blueprint. You may disagree, but this is the cruel realities of the salary cap. Robert Hunt: Cut post June 1 and save $19m. Who do you replace him with? Ickey. Tershawn Wharton: Cutting him saves nearly $15m. We should all hope to see Aaron Hall (UDFA) make the roster and play well. Regardless, this is a position we would likely have to address in the next draft. Trevin Moehrig: Cutting Moehrig as the starting SS saves this team $16.5m. Ransom will be on year 3 of a cheap rookie deal and should be more than ready to take the reins. their styles are similar. Furthermore, FS Wheatley (R, 4th round) will be starting. Taylor Moton: So much depends on his knee, but I have an idea that he can play another 3 years. extending him could save the team about $5m per year. Cutting him outright would save the team about $21m. In the most drastic situation, we have to cut Moton and the other three players mentioned. We would need (in all likelihood) a starting DT and RT. It is possible that the DE would be addressed, but Wharton's production (so far) could be equaled by a rookie. Look for a cut free agent and a 2027 draft pick here. If you cut Moton, you save $21m, and that would be the only big hole to fill. Having Ickey at RG gives you some depth at T, and Ickey could be the guy. T could be pick in the 2027 draft (first round), fwiw. It saves you $21m while costing you $5m, for example. We get younger, creating a core of Freeling, Hecht, and the RT first rounder in 2027) along with Ekownu (second contract in the $15m range, and Lewis, whose contract would be in the $16m range if not extended.) The OL cuts (Hunt, Moton) would save $40m. The OL would get younger and still solid with veterans at G. By cutting Wharton (no brainer if his play stays the same) and Moehrig (good player--but we have Ransom on a rookie contract who would not be that much of a drop off--if any) in addition to Hunt and Moton, we would save over $70m in cap room. We would be able to give Bryce bag and we would have enough to re-sign Ickey (if the knee is not too risky) to a Guard contract (probably at a discount, coming off that injury). Furthermore, we could add a RT in the draft (or a RG if Ickey moves to RT) and that would be the only large hole to fill. Correct my logic if you see issues-- On defense, in addition to the aforementioned, Scott ($2m contract) is out, replaced by a 4th round rookie contract. CB Jackson's contract ($7.8m) expires and he is (possibly) replaced by a rookie contract. At Edge, patrick Jones II's $10m contract expires and he is likely a reserve, and his role is absorbed by Phillips, Scourton, Princely, and possible an UDFA like Isaiah Smith or a 2027 draft pick. These productive developmental players over the past 2 drafts will pay huge dividends. On paper, I see the team getting much younger and possibly better while cutting nearly $100m and reallocating that money to get more production.

  13. If everything played out and that last thing happened, I probably just quit.
  14. With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend. And probably an upgrade at that. You only got 2 parents.
  15. Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
  16. Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
  17. I mean, our TE room does suck but we had other pressing needs and no surefire upgrades in the draft. I was surprised at how many TEs went in the first three rounds. I think most everyone was. You want a guy who projects at least as a guy who has the potential ceiling to be a starter in those rounds and I didn't see 11 of those in this draft. Off the top of my head, I think that's how many TEs went in the first three rounds. It was in that range. That's roughly 10% of the overall picks. Definitely did NOT see that coming with this TE class.
  18. Anything less than a convincing season from Bryce should lead to serious consideration of drafting his competition / replacement in 2027.
  19. Lol. As long as we are dreaming I would have liked to hear “well the two year option is about as far as we were willing to go, considering how strong the 2027 QB class is looking”. yeah I know it would never happen. But when they do have those internal discussions about the extension, I hope that draft class is part of what they discuss. Options.
  20. His agent is asking for too much money for a soon to be 30 year old TE who hasn't been healthy lately. Ravens have the inside track to sign him.
  21. Good points. Love that he's a versatile safety and not just a box safety...or just a centerfield FS. He has his strengths, which I think are the yin to Moehrig's yang, but can also get physical at the LOS if needed. His drafting is yet another piece on this defense that keeps offenses guessing. Between our DL and secondary, OCs and QBs are going to have their hands full figuring out pressure, shells, man/zone, whatever. Just like Bryce is on a "no excuse" year, I think Evero has the same campaign going. A couple of small holes, but overall, this defense should be top-15...if not better.
  22. Yeah. Aside from the questionable arm skill what I see is he lacks the thickness to absorb hits, he won’t hold up as a running QB. So not sure what his path will be.
  23. Trevin now has Lee Hunter on the line in front of him to help and so that should make him better by default.
  24. This obsession with all these analysts on us needing a TE that badly was... odd. Yes, we certainly would've liked an upgrade but does the production from that position really warrant such high draft capital? I look at last year's production league-wide and I can't really make a case from a yardage standpoint. From a red-zone TD perspective, maybe. It seems Canales favors wideouts far more, though, especially since we drafted yet another one.
  25. Well they were long gone so haw can that be known? It was clear to me that we couldn’t stay put and get Rodriguez. And what were they to use to move up? Having Hunter and keeping the rest of the picks to use on these other guys was the right move in that scenario The only real pain free way to move up was to trade back in the first but when Freeling is sitting there that doesn’t look like as good of a plan
  26. Mike Kaye also mentioned we're no longer interested in Njoku
