Check out Taylen Green too.

Sounds exactly like Anthony Richardson. No thanks.

Mateer does interest the heck out of me. Live arm, a solid A-power, dual threat, risk taker, experienced with presnap work, good mechanics. Has a side arm thing but nothing egregious or different than Ward, PM, etc. Outside of Sellers, he's the other with that level of high reward. And good news - the entire class is 6'-1" and above

Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?
Panthering replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
Lanorris Sellers is my choice but I'm biased of course. He should honestly stay another year and develop as a passer though. -
Jared Feinberg's Panthers v Jaguars film review
Icege replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
DCs have got a couple of years of Canales' play-calling now to see what he's doing the same between TB & CAR. Most fans without an anti-player agenda understood coming in that this was going to be a season about developing the young guys (something most fans have been clamoring for since the soft reboots started taking place), but the coaches are in the same boat imo. Not only does Evero need to show that last season was an aberration, Canales needs to show that he has an offensive mind that can compete with some of these great defensive coordinators around the league. I think one of the adjustments for that particular play is going to be having Tremayne (or whoever the WR ends up being) create a contact with the SS before his break to the corner if the CB has outside leverage. I recall seeing the same (or at least a very similar) play drawn up during preseason where XL was breaking open to the corner after getting to the CBs outside shoulder but the ball went elsewhere due to pressure. Shoot... I think this might be the season that I finally challenge myself to try and figure out which plays/concepts we see most often and when. The last decade of reviewing all-22s after frustrating L's has helped me learn so much more about the game. -
I think he should keep it tbh and try to improve at it all. We hired him to be the f'ing playcaller and head coach, so deal with the bumps of someone learning on the job with a limited QB. It's fine.

It's a 3 year walk back from generational talent but that's what these guys do after going so hard for so long.
-
SC fan so I might be biased, but Sellers is built different just like Cam was. He can shrug off sacks and then pop out of the pocket and use his ridiculous acceleration to scramble for the first down. One of those things that just cannot be taught and will translate to the NFL. He's 6'3" 240 built like a brick poo-house and is not afraid of contact. He is however, definitely raw as Passer there is zero doubt about that. I think he's had 13 starts in college now? This shouldn't be surprising at all. He has a good arm though and can hopefully improve, seems to have a great head on his shoulders.

That should have been this year. Tough to sell to anyone worth getting when this crew is going into year 3 on the hot seat. I still think keeping Evero will sink them all after last year's showing. If/when he is scapegoated they need to show improvement or it's likely to be so eone else's problem next year. I do agree in principle tho, it all should have happened after last year's problems.

ESPN's Benjamin Solak on Bryce Young
PanthersNCSU replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've listened to some things that have calmed the "Bryce was flat out terrible" to just "he was really bad" in Week 1. It's Year 3 though, and that shouldn't be the barometer. I've got 1% hope left for Bryce, and that's just blind homerism coming out. I'm scared that as much emphasis as the team places on advanced stats and PFF that the team *doesn't* think Bryce was that bad in Week 1. Couple that with so many of the QBs in the league looking rough, offense being down in general, and I feel like there's a lot of "what if's" going on in the building instead of facing the music. Lose Week 2, and we should switch the main focus back to building/churning the roster, evaluating young guys, and hoping our next QB can have a Jayden Daniels level of impact. As we're all well too aware of, QB is a crapshoot a lot of the time. Admit we made a bad pick, and go draft another. And another. Repeat until correct. -
I wouldn't want any of those starting as a rookie on day 1. That said, we need a vet, that is not Andy Dalton, that can be the starter while a prospect grows and learns on the sidelines.

Canales needs to concentrate on coaching
PleaseCutStewart replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think more than a DC, we need to get an experienced OC so Dave can stop worrying about calling plays and actually be paying attention to the game. Norvell tried to do the same crap at FSU. Finally got an experienced OC and let him focus on the coaching part of the game and FSU looks miles better this year than last -
He is 100% they lost if not the main reason. 3 turnovers. 2 on downs. 5 total.

Canales needs to concentrate on coaching
raleigh-panther replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
DC, aka Mr Rogers, needs to try this -
Nussmeier shows all the qualities, but has a really bad game here and there. Sellers is raw, we will see how things play out.

Wait......CRA is now playing UP our receivers?

Well let's be realistic here. He could have taken one look at Bryce Young on tape and known what he was getting. As JackieLee stated his work with QB's like Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield is a big contributing factor in why he was hired. At the same time we also have to recognize other factors. Seemingly and realistically he was the only one seriously considering the job. And as far as "fixing" Bryce Young goes one entire staff has already gotten the axe over him. Frank Reich was vilified as possibly the worst head coaching hire ever. 2 years later the more we see of Bryce the more it looks like he was the problem. Right now we are at a true crossroads. We cannot just play out the season with Young and be a serious franchise. We have to try and see what we have in the young roster and firmly get some sort of look at Canales offense. At this point Dave Canales needs to earn the right to draft his own QB. So far he has developed bupkis at the most important position. And he and Dan Morgan made the decision to not give Bryce Young one iota of competition for the third year in a row. He cannot claim the cupboards are bare beyond his control.

I'll add one. Fernando Mendoza.

Sellers doesn't look very impressive at all so far. Nussmeier the same. Leavitt has as many ints as tds with sub 60 completion. 45% this last week. No.
-
turnovers werent the reason we lost? Throwing it away on 4rth and 1 at the gl isnt the reason we lost?
-
I get the impression people dont know that there are countless sources of stats online.
-
that’s how quickly I want Bryce off the team.

This comment sticks out to me, what’s considered hate? If I give you facts about our QB and you say you must hate him then you’re blind to the facts my friend. It’s not hate or trashing a okayer when someone says he only completed 51% of his passes and we’re like dam that’s terrible in all reality. That’s not trashing him he did that with his okay we’re just going over what he out on tape his in game play seems like trash but spewing facts can never be hate we have to accept the man for what he is a great college QB who couldn’t do it in the pros.
-
He totally underestimated how limited bryces physical abilities are. Not saying he is a great coach just saying no coach on the planet succeeds in the nfl with bryce young at qb.
-
That data jives with what we've seen with our eyes. 50/50 balls left and right.
