Too late to edit my last comment... sorry it seems so negative but that is what we saw all last year and was all peaches and cream, until it got real. There is no reason to sign Gilmore right now. Let the young guys compete behind Horn and see who steps up. Best time to sign him would be in the preseason. He will probably still be available. He’s better Horn injury insurance than a #2 starting CB.

Jeff Daniels has to go. Rod is going to end up getting himself fired sooner rather than later by holding onto all of his assistants.

Rods problem is he wants to keep his assistant coaches around forever. That will be his downfall.

He needs to make everyone believe that he can win a game when it is up to him. Until his teammates and fans believe that he is a clutch performer and will elevate this team in it time of need he will be considered a bust. It is the difference between Daniel Jones and and Joe Burrows…. One has it and one doesn’t and right now BY does not have “it”.

Rod and co. are saying what we already know… special teams has to be better. If we score one PP goal on Sunday and one PP goal tonight then we’re up 2-0 instead of down 2-0. Canes won 5 v 5 play 3-2 tonight and will continue to win 5 v 5 play. If special teams gets us a net 0 or better then we’ll win the majority of games and if they don’t then we’ll lose. Simple as that.

I feel like we are caught between a rock and a hard place. I think rod is a good coach and awesome motivator, but definitely is not a good in-game coach and gets exposed by other good coaches that know how to counter our system. But ... Do we really think any other talented coach wants to coach in Carolina? I highly doubt it. If we fire rod and try to get a new coach, I feel pretty confident in saying we will find ourselves back into being an irrelevant team

Hey, dudes. As most of you know, I've been a Panthers fan since day one and have been on this board forever. Lived in Raleigh 6 years, Greensboro 1, Durham 2, and spent 18 years in Charlotte. Never really cared much for the Hornets though. Never really followed the Canes. That said, I've been in NYC for 13 years now. I started paying attention to the NHL about six years ago. I root for the Rangers casually, as Islanders fans are a bunch of rejects from Long Island and I'd rather die than cheer for anything on Long Island. So ... I ask you this, would you guys like a little extra spice for the rest of the series??? I'll gladly be the "Rags Fan" you can smack talk during games lol. If not, I'll watch the games in peace. But it seems these threads only have Homers versus Chicken Littles. So how about a no good dirty "New Yorker"?
