I've got to echo the prevailing sentiment. Quality signing at a position of need further freeing the team to do whatever they want in the draft.

Kristen Balboni introduces Sam Darnold to southern foods.
mccjeff replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He doesn't come off as nearly the dope I thought he would. And that's a relief. Glad to see him being good natured about the buy in. -
Jimmy Johnson on Darnold and Rhule
mccjeff replied to Little Goody Two Shoes's topic in Carolina Panthers
Gotta like what JJ was saying about Rhule and Darnold. -
You say that like its a bad thing. And good post MHS! Thanks.

He might have meant 42 passes.

Ultimate Raiders Fan home... in Maryland
mccjeff replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bet Halloween there is intense. -
If he is not the long term answer then why do it? Still going to pay TB whether he is cut or on the bench. Just to win the same amount or at best a few more games? So that leaves exciting as the reason...

Schefter thinks Darnold worth 1st rounder if traded
mccjeff replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers
If Darnold is worth a 1st then so is Teddy. Trade Ted for that first right now, combine it with #8 and move up to take qb of choice... Except neither are worth a 1st. -
Who's fault Teddy was depends on who you want to blame and not on a single shred of knowledge of the decision.

But I thought they could only go after the signing bonus money if he retired.

Stafford trade agreement might be in place before the Super Bowl

All those California teams look the same. -
That is true. But they are exactly equivalent in how much good it does to bring either up in every single thread.

I'm going to start complaining about the loss to the Chargers in week 3. If only the defense hadn't gotten so many takeaways in that game we could have easily lost and still had the #3 pick. I hope Burns is happy with that strip-sack, it set the franchise back a dozen years.

Watson not the only big name vet at QB that we're looking at?

He made you say that. -
Better in each and every way.

Peyton Manning talks football with Bill Clinton?

This is why we can't have nice things. -
I'll begrudgingly admit that MLB is not as valued in today's NFL as it was in yesteryear. So Parsons at 8 is not the choice I would make. But the discussion of who to pick at 8 if all the top QBs are gone is valid. That could mean all 4 of the top 4 are gone or Panthers staff has determined that they do not like whatever QB is left at 8. It's easy to say trade back but you have to have a trade partner and get good value for that trade. Failing that we could go the Vikings route and just not make a pick. Not really a fan of that strategy. Somebody will be the pick. So if top 3 QBs are gone, 4th QB is unacceptable, Sewell, Chase, top CB (Farley/Surtain) and Paye are gone and no one is interested in trading... Parsons? Pitts? Farley/Surtain leftover? Smith or Waddle?

Jameis Winston: I didn't steal the crab legs
mccjeff replied to TNPanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think he was better of with stealing them. We were broke as anything and it was my buddies birthday and I made a bad decision. Way better than the sense of entitlement that some guy at a Publix gives you food and you don't have to pay. It is essentially I didn't steal it, I just walked out without paying for it. And it sure does look like he loves some crab legs. -
Thanks for the pics and report.

Thanks for the deets.
