You rotate that many quarterbacks and all that would have happpened is a “bust” at drafting a quarterback. Matt Jones would have looked like David Carr or Pickles. too much is put on the right player but it’s the right coach and system plugging players in and adjusting them to what they do. Trevor Lawrence may or may not be “generational talent” but it’s hard to tell by who drafted him

Quite a lot of people don’t pay attention to what happens to win ratios and other players stats around players. some play and have great stats but the team loses and other players play like poo. some play without great stats but others play better better around them and the team wins more. Then once in 1000 players you get both. A true badass that makes everyone else around them a badass. Even the scrubs look like they are invincible(it’s how a player looks great on one team, gets a trade then stinks elsewhere) You can’t compare “skill sets” between true X factor players and those who don’t have it. CMac is an exceptional player but the team doesn’t all of a sudden play much better with him than without him. Steve Smith probably willed the team to 3-4 more wins a year than they were worth. He had that much x-factor

Back when Tepper was rumored to be the favorite and so many were high on the brass balls thing etc, I said in a number of posts I was burned for that he’s a hedgefund guy, has no mentoring or true managerial talent with people. he might be a guy that pulls Captain Kirk types of educated guesses and has an uncanny rate of success with junk bonds and such, but he’s not a manager of people. people are not the matrix no matter how much analytical dumb dumbs try to make them. Someone like a Tepper is not someone who should own a football team unless he removes himself from it and gets the right GM and leaves them alone.
