Strongest Unit .... you could technically make a case for 5 positions. The Rb's are top heavy but fall off significantly. The other 4 = WRs, Secondary, Defensive and Offensive lines. When you account for those units it becomes more of a 2 nickels to 1 dime argument. Tier 1: (Top 20 talent at position).. Rb: Cmc, Foreman (back half play) Wr: DJ Oline: Moton, Bozeman Dline: Burns DB: Jeremy Chinn Tier 2: (Talent to get into Tier 1 by the end of season) Rb: None Dline: Brown Oline: Corbett, Ickey (??) WR: TMJ CB: Horn, Donte Tier 3 (Talent to get into Tier 2 by the end of the season) Rb: none WR: Anderson Dline: YGM, Haynes Oline: BC DB: CJ Henderson, Woods Tier 4: Wildcards (reliable..some anyway.. and can jump a tier at anytime. Have flashed but also struggled at times) ... Rb: Chubba WR: Higgins, Zlystra, Shi Smith.. Dline: Nixon, Ionnidis, Hoskins Oline: Brown, Elifien, Daley, Cade DB: Keith Taylor Jr, Myles, Westry, Burris and possibly Robinson(Want to see what Wilks can do with him. Reminds me of the safety version of Norman.) Tier 5: Everyone else ...fighting for a roster spot. Except a couple exemptions i.e Andre Robert's (KR/PR) The above is just all my opinion off the top of my head. With the talent level of a healthy McCaffrey, I could see how RB jumps the list. It's the amount of depth at the other positions that make the running back position get overlooked. That and the fact 50% of the fanbase is thinking CMC wont stay healthy enough to contribute substantially.

I actually think BC is a straight up tackle. A swing tackle who I believe can grow into an above average player. I wouldn't want to see him at Guard "unless" he is able to show a lot more in the strength department. That said, I still think he'd be an upgrade from Jordan and Elfien. Again I'm just excited we were able to grab up Campen. Honestly thinking even if we had to work with the same Oline from last year we'd look much improved under his guidance. A guy that people are down on but I think Campen will do wonders for is Daley. He'll also up the technique and overall skill level of guys like Cade and Deonte. I'm not too worried about the other starting four tbh: Moton, Ikem, Bozeman, Corbett. Just curious as to who gets tha other starting G spot.

I'd do it if : A: He didn't demand outrageous ass $$$ B: We put him at FS and Woods at SS. Which would leave our LB's as Shaq-Wilson/Littleton-Chinn. Being that we signed Xavier for three years and Wilks along with Snow pushed for Chinn to stay at safety, I wouldn't put money on us even picking up the phone for Bates. It would be a nice addition on paper.

Was I misreading/listening or do I recall last season around week 3-4/up until week 3-4... .....wasn't our run defense "technically" one of the best in history statistically?. Or was that pass D or total D? I remember a couple announcers saying something along those lines. And the local Cowboy ass clown I work with going off since Zeke and Pollard pulled off such a game vs our "highly ranked defense". And didn't we go all season without a TD against us on the opening drive? For a team with a rep for bad run defense that's still impressive. Hell if we could have kept the same energy we had on the opening drive (both Offense & Defense) throughout the entire game we would have been a hell of a team.

Sam we know but Baker (when healthy) is a bit of a wildcard. He's basically a stronger version of Sam...head and shoulders. He dosen't panic nearly as much, and his field vision and ability to read the defense is superior imo. 2021 injured Baker is even an upgrade to Darnold. Now if 2020 Baker hits our field, we'll be really fuggin hard to beat. We still have to prepare for the worst though. Question is if Baker, Sam, and Corral are our starting QBs in that order on the depth chart when do you see Rhule throwing in Corral? With the added playoff teams, if we end up with 7-8 wins we could still be in the wildcard discussion by end of the season. I don't see Rhule playing Corral if Baker has us in that position. I think it's truly a redshirt season for Corral unless one of the four occur: A. He dominates training camp and preseason by a country mile. Even then I dont have faith in Rhule to make the right call. B. Injuries forcing the hand C. We are trash and he's the last resort. D. Put him in when we're mathematically eliminated(but then do you have a large enough sample size to judge by this point) Lol our coaching staff didnt even have enough sense to start Christensen and Brown when it was beyond obvious to everyone. They waited until the point they couldn't properly evaluate the talent and then questioned the late response later. As for QB play, a healthy and motivated Baker playing for a contract is going to be hard to beat in camp. AND we're basically paying another guy 19 million to be a backup. That's crazy. We're just in a bad QB spot. Hypothetically, Baker could suprise and get us 10-11 wins then decline to resign here lol. Sam could get us to the NFC championship game and I'd still be hesitant to resign him. I think Corral might be the answer but he'll need time to get fully acclimated. Which is not good when you have an overactive coach and impatient owner. I just hope we dont get stuck with Rhule for three more seasons starting yet another trio of different QBs each yr.

I can although I dont want to. The amount & timing of what we paid Ian tells me we've done what we think is necessary at that position. Ian, Tremble (future), Sullivan (brought in by Fitts from SEA), Thompson (Temple), and the two UDFA we picked up. Unless injury strikes, we're sadly probably done at that position for now. And yes that's probably a bottom 5-10 unit.

Adjustments, scoring in the redzone, 3rd and 4th Quarter will be a huge + to our offense. There is a night and day difference between HC McAdoo and OC McAdoo. Exhibit A: The 2015 Giants game, or better remembered as the Josh Norman/Odell game of our 15-1 season. Iirc, the giants came dangerously close to making that 15-1, either 14-1-1 or 14-2. By the 3rd quarter the score we were dominating the Giants to the tune of 35-7. By the end of the 4th the final score was 38-35 via a Gano FG with 2 seconds left. If that was ANY indication he is undoubtedly the biggest sleep addition of the off season. Side note: Rivera was also was known to take his foot off the gas. Still, against the defense we fielded that year it was very impressive nevertheless. Good point OP

If we keep Darnold: Atleast our preseason record should be above .500 Then again, I wouldnt even bet on that.

This!!!!! He honestly "could" have contributed more at QB than WR. This was basically the equivalent to switching Lamarr Jackson to WR....just to a lesser talent degree. P.S.. thought I'd see stats in this thread ..naaah lol

This!!!!! ... I'm not a Baker fan by any means (well technically I guess I am now) BUT I think the general consensus is that they are similar players. That holds true if you only look at last years eerily close stats. The problem is Baker played hurt last season. If anything, the hurt version of Mayfield is still a close step up from Darnold. A 100% healthy Mayfield w/ a chip on his shoulder is a totally different animal. If we get the Baker from the season before last then Rhule has successfully saved his job. Sidenote: + Makes the Higgins acquisition make more sense.... Bad notes: Baker DOES have a turnover problem, so the multiple INTs per game has to be fixed. Also, our receiver room is going to have to become more aggressive in the way they attack the ball (hence Higgins) with his placement. I think we'll be good though between DJ, Rashard, Terrace, and Zlystra, McCaffrey. This camp competition should be highly interesting lol. I bet Robbie is feeling some type of way. Had a down year and he's going into a contract year with the QB he publically spoke against feeding his target share. Actually wouldn't suprise me if he was traded. Also..NOW I can finally begin to think that Ian Thomas might have a career year. Alot of things are starting to make more sense surrounding FO intentions/moves.

Long post: Moore & #11 have had extremely good chemistry with Corral from everything I've seen. As the universe would work, he coincidentally got drafted by a team whose starting wideouts are named Moore and #11 was Robbie's at the time of the draft. I think he's #3 now (Probably predicting his role on the field behind DJ and Terrace) Anyway, Corral played his butt off in that game. I've seen the '21 matchup and walked away thinking "maybe". This one though = starter vibes. I have to give props to his OC and his supporting cast on O also. That defense had to be terrible. Kinda crazy when you look at the draft spots we had (basically a 1st, 4th, two 5ths and a 7th) and then you research into the players we drafted. After diving deeper, I've seen that we grabbed 4 players who at some point between the last two seasons were viewed as 1st-2nd round selections. Corral (Proj: late first), Ikem (1st, all the way up to #1 overall iirc), Brandon Smith (Proj: 2nd) and Cade(1st, everywhere from top 15-25). Very solid haul considering that potential. Early kudos to our scouting dept but time will tell the full story. I do think Corral will sit for the majority of the year if not his entire rookie season. Then again, I'm pretty sure Darnold has never played an entire season without missing time. So if the inevitable happens again or he struggles mightily, PJ will "probably" get the nod. Think Deonte Brown. Side note: A. All that switches if Tepper has Rhule on the hot seat. After that 5 year comment though I think he may be safer than most assume. B. All that switches if Jimmy or Baker are picked up. I do have to say Corral reminds me of a blended version of Brees, Mahomes and Baker with Heinickie(??) sprinkled in there. I cant help but to see slight characteristics of all the above at certain points. Sometimes I think he could be our version of Russel Wilson and other times I think its entirely possible he becomes our second version of Matt Moore. His development should be interesting to say the least.

Corner argument agreed! YGM sentiment agreed! I'm not as down on Brown as much as many here are. He definitely has underperformed his draft spot but I'm still holding out hope he turns into KK 2.0 production wise in year three. Also as it stands right now imo he's miles ahead of Vernon Butler in every category. As for Burns, I think I remember Snow saying in a presser that that was all they asked for him to do for the most part. Wish I could find the exact quote but it wasn't far off. Hopefully he puts that part of his game together though.

Defensively yes. I think people forget just how underwhelming that defense was in '19... Ron's last year here. For all the "names" that we brought in, I was pretty disappointed with the outcome. '19 defensive roster to name a few: Irvin, Mccoy(he did go off in one game iirc), Poe, Boston, Reid. Mind you, Keek was still playing at that point. We did manage to get a few sacks though w/ Addison and Irvin. As for the scouting, the idea seems to be bring in guys with the physical traits you cant teach and coach'em up on everything else. One of the fastest teams in the NFL. And after seeing some of the athletic profiles of the guys coming out of Baylor the last couple years, I'd say Rhule is using his college strategy with hope that it translates at the next level.

If I'm not mistaken wasnt he like a top 1-3 TE coming out of college and we converted him to WR??. Funchess was bad at times but I would still probably take him over Ian Thomas as a pass catching TE.

Well ...not saying he's Luke but the closest we had we cut from camp last season.

In spot duty, his impact is felt for sure. When he was coming out of college and I learned he broke the Ole Miss sack record (which was held by Greg Hardy iirc) I knew eventhough he was a bit undersized he would make his presence known here. He just needs more playing time. Going to need him to develop his run defense but I was happy to hear he resigned. Luvu and Haynes should make a nice rotation. Both have a non stop motor. Bonus: Neither of the above have peaked. Luvu though..... Wouldnt suprise me at all if he was top 15 in impact on limited snaps from what I saw last year. He was literally everywhere.

If we somehow end up with Mayfield on the roster come preseason, this has the potential to be widly entertaining.

I remember this guy. Around the time he left the board Cam started his behind the scene vids and his cinematography had almost the same characteristics. I always wondered if this was the same dude. Either way I'm looking forward to his vids.

No it pretty much lastest from the initial Tepper and Hurney interview right up until the 24 hours after receiving the keys to his office space. Iirc, even his introductory speech was pretty damn good. Then again it's a EXTREME difference between reading off note cards vs on the spot response. To add to his flaws imo he's a bit power hungry and he tries too hard to relate to the players. So instead of it feeling genuine it comes off as cringy at times ..that may because he's still pulling from his Temple/Baylor bag i.e...Treating grown men like first year freshmen. In his mind he probably sees himself as John Madden in grooming. In reality, we've been gifted Rick Moranis from the Little Giants. Sad part is I'd like to like this guy. He just makes that incredibly hard at almost a trolling rate.

Yea after a couple offseasons. He REALLY needs to get stronger. Been telling people to go back to those Senior Bowl 1 on 1 reps. My guy was on skates almost every snap. His versatility will come in handy though. He just needs quite a bit more strength out the gate.

The collective unit is my obvious. I think we'll look back on this draft in a positive light. Literally a lot of potential below... Here's my take: Jaycee Horn: I'm looking at Horn as another 1st round pick in the '22 draft since he only suited up 3 full games last year. The drop off when he left the field was noticeable. Has the ability not only be a Pro bowler but All-Pro at the position. Off the charts athleticism is one thing, the "want to be great" is what will separate him from his peers. Year 2: Lockdown corner. TMJ: Once he becomes confident and we give the man a QB, he will be a problem. If he was the #2 receiver this year, I could see him maxing out at 800 yards. He should have been out primary redzone weapon last season. Still developing but imo his floor is Brandon Lafell and his ceiling is Justin Jefferson (in the right situation). Oddly enough thier all LSU products. Year 2: Around 6 TDs - 300-500 yards. BC: Idunno.. hasn't had enough play for me to form an opinion. That's on the coaching staff. I can say he is miles better than Greg Little at this same point. I'm not a fan of him all over the line though.... In the end, I think he'll turn out as an above average swing tackle or guard depending on placement. Year 2: Average play if placed in the LG spot (NEEDS to get stronger). Tremble: If it took Ian 3 years to be considered "our best blocker" by many people, imagine what Tremble can become. Honestly thought he'd get his shot at being a starter but with the Thomas signing all signs point opposite. If his hands become reliable I think he easily moves up the depth chart. Year 2: Look for improved numbers in every category with McAdoo as the coordinator. Just imagining Tremble helping Ickey and D Brown is wild entertaining for me. Chubba: With an improved line and another year under his belt, Chubba "could" show a lot of what made him a leading rusher a few seasons ago. I think his development will be the most obvious for some reason. Year 2: Hard to call with Christian back and Foreman taking a role. Nixon: Flashed last season will be improved this season. Still amazed we got him in the 5th round. At one point he was being called a potential first rounder. By his contract year I think he'll be a beast. Year 2: Solid rotational peice. **Gem** KT: We already got our value and more from this pick. He really played over my expectations last year. He got burned a couple times but he also held his own as well. We've had a lot of cbs since Norman left but this is one of the guys we needs to continue to develop. If Wilks stays here for a few seasons I have no doubts he'll be a pivotal piece. Year 2: Builds onto last years success. **Gem** Deonte Brown: One pressure, five hurries and a half-sack in his Alabama career...smdh. With what we fielded last season, he should have definitely seen more PT. If you took away the weight issues, I'd say he'd be nightmare next to Ikem, esp with Campen coaching him up. Year 2: Who knows ?? Smith: Might not be on team come week 1. Fletcher: Could have been an UDFA. Hoskins: He flashed a couple times too. I think he makes the roster but Year 2: Impact minimal. I love this class. Results remain to be seen. BUT it is entirely possible that from a skillset standpoint we picked up 4 future starters. And the number could go up to 5-6(overly optimistically speaking). But you cant deny the talent is there. Tbh your lucky for 2-3 starters in a draft. Throwing darts in the dark.

If Sam starts, Robbie will probably have another down season BUT the wildcard is that we've never seen Sam with consistent time to throw in pocket. With an improved line he should be able to get through his progressions a helluva lot more. It also gives Robbie more time to get vertical. He really needs to work on his hands and the focus aspect. With the competition currently in our WR room he's locked into that #2 spot almost automatically. He could be pushed to a #3 role. Not likely but possible Locks: DJ Moore, Anderson ... Realistic competition for #2 spot: Terrance Marshall Jr, Rashard Higgins (sleeper), Shi Smith (If he stays on the team) *biggest threats in bold* I can't give up on my guy just yet though.

He really reminds me of a mixture between Omar Bayless and Devin Funchess. Could be a TE covert...but Robert's should have the return duties on locked down. Higgins might have that ability also but I wouldn't count on it.
