I’m not sure we’re able to trade up at this point

Trey Lance went 6/10 for 72 yards in the FCS championship Stroud put up 350 yards and 4 tds and hung 40+ on a vaunted GA defense without his #1 WR and the #2 WR also getting hurt in the game. Plus Lance was known as a project who only really played one year of college football at a lower level. And he played like one game this year prior to getting hurt. It’s too early to declare him a failure.

In order to move up for Goff Titans gave up # 15, two 2nds, 3rd and the next seasons 1st and 3rd in order to move up from #6 to #2. WAS gave up #6 and their next 2 years first round picks for RG3

Stroud has looked very good against a very good defense so far

I find this need to passionately argue about Darnold in 100 threads weird. He had a nice game. He’s been decent over the last 4. We know from last season that making major proclamations based off 4 games is a little premature. We got 3 more games to collect data on and judge him.

Eh. If we end up in 8-12 range I wouldn’t care if we roll the dice on Levis. Also looks like the guy from Stanford is rising up the board. Tho I haven’t watched him at all this year. Missing out on Young is not ideal. But if we decide not to go QB there’s plenty of players at positions of need that have potential. We could add to the O-Line with Skoronski, boast our Dline with Bresee, or add a playmaker in Johnston/Addison, or a TE in Mayer. Also a few CBs ranked in the 8-15 range. tbh the worst part of dropping might be there’s always one or two big names that drop into that late first early 2nd range.

Haskins had substance abuse issues. Not really sure that’s a reasonable comparison unless you know something about Stroud we don’t

I don’t think we should necessarily be targeting a position. We need talent. I’m pretty onboard with going BPA R2 as likely some guy who should been top 20ish pick will fall for whatever reason.

I guess it depends on their sense of whether he wants to stay. I said before I think fans here have overrated our defense due to a combo of bad QBs we’ve faced and our offense isn’t exactly getting into any shootouts. But I don’t think we’re far from being a solid defense and if we miss out on Stroud, I think an Anderson/Burns edge rush combo would cause nightmares for QBs

It feels silly to blame all our offensive struggles on bad QB play, while hyping a defense that has played: Jimmy G Jacoby Brissett Jameis Daniel Jones As 4 of our first 5 games

This. We lack talent, especially at QB. Firing Rhule doesn’t do nothing for me as it only increases our odds of possibly winning 5-6 games and picking 6th.

At this rate I’m content on firing Rhule after the season. We look like a 2 or 3 win team. Maybe for the best

I’d still be quiet happy with Will Anderson. Would add a whole new dynamic to our pass rush and defense
