Forgive my ignorance, but what happens if Evero leaves for a lateral position? Do we get a compensatory pick, or anything?

I work with a guy that was a scout in the league for a long time. He is close friends with Jerod Mayo, and he said Mayo has talked about Dan Morgan for years. My co-worker insists that Dan is very well respected all across the league, and he said he'd be shocked if he didn't succeed immediately.

One of my best friends is a lifelong Bucs fan. He is really upset about this. He badly wanted Canales as their next HC. He said their message boards are freaking out right now.

I don't think he's humble enough to give Vrabel the kind of control he'd want.

I actually think this is a great position to be in if we're hoping to hiring an up-and-coming coach. A guy like Vrabel would never want this job, but someone like Canales could really make a quick name for himself here. He could go win six games next year and it would look like a huge improvement. That's literally tripling our wins from 2023. That gives a GM something to spin when trying to convince free agents to sign with us the following season.

Guys, we're not getting Ben Johnson. Canales is probably the best candidate that might actually be gettable for the Panthers right now. Maybe Evero.

I usually just usually listen to segments of the Mac Attack from WFNZ. They put those up as podcast episodes and are pretty good about labeling what each segment is about.

One of my few bright spots of this season is that I don't have to support that guy.

I think our only chance at landing a "good" candidate was if we named Evero the interim and just let him slide into that role full-time. Now, I don't see any way we land someone we actually want.

That feels like the only explanation for the way this game was coached.

Remember that Dobbs has never started for a team that he has spent an offseason with. He started for Tennessee last season after being in Nashville for less than a week. He was traded to Arizona a couple weeks before the season started. The snaps you saw yesterday were the first he ever took with Minnesota. I'd love to see what he could do with a full offseason somewhere. He's also a friend of mine! That's my "cool story, bro."
