  1. Why post something like this when he can't pass to himself? The last two games he has had CBs beat for six and Darnold flat out missed with the throws. Dude gave a110% trying to catch the two passes that were both thrown short. If our QB was Rodgers, you may have a point, but its not. Its Sam Darnold with PJ Walker as backup.
  2. He was most certainly doubled, chipped, and schemed around on Sunday. Stop making sweeping statements for your argument that are false. That is done way too much on this board! And I can't believe you are still whining about this. The Rams could ball out next year and the 2024 picks end up being late round. Either case, it didn't happen.
  3. Not in his own territory up 14-0. NFL coaches don't do that. I have seen him punt it this year in college down to Ohio State on 4th and short. But you can't post don't hire Wilks every time you post huh?
  4. It won't matter because at the end of the day no one truly cares. You can't really prove anything in court, these rich assholes have lots of money for litigators, and caucasian fans really aren't going to ever boycott because the Rooney rule wasn't followed.
  5. No one cares about that anymore. They just want a young offensive minded head coach who isn't conservative. Anybody who has coached defense or has heard the name Rivera or watched him play or coach a game need not apply. They need not be a coward scared to go for it on 4th down even from inside their own territory, they need to not even worry about defense(truly doesn't matter according to posters), and be the chief offensive mind on their staff so no one can hire away the true offensive genius.
  6. No. He said the turnovers hurt, hard to win with turnovers type stuff every coach says with no names at all.
  7. Seriously, this is not Madden! No NFL coach, offensive minded, non conservative, or not goes for it up 14-0 in their own territory in the first half. How stupid would everyone had felt if they would have got stuffed and Brady scored on a 38yd TD pass instead of a 70 yarder? They did go for a more analytical 4th down which resulted in a DJ Moore first down.
  8. Yeah, lets forget that! They got back two starters yesterday and they played well.
  9. This should be its own thread first off. Secondly, they don't want to be fair as these dudes just don't want Wilks to be the HC. They are literally saying Horn when he was inactive. They are flaming Wilks for making no adjustments when literally CJ Henderson and Taylor quit running on two of the Evans TDs. They were put in position to succeed and didn't execute because they aren't good players! Again, none of this matter because these dudes don't want Wilks to be HC. This isn't Madden, and Shaun McVay wouldn't have went for it in his own territory up 14-0. He said that you can't win a game with making turnovers and they are saying that he put the blame on Sam Darnold. And you know what, I get it because people on TV are saying the same stupid garbage. Colin Cowherd just said on his show that CJ Henderson has been on like five teams. He was literally drafted in 2020. Wilks is going to be the next head coach. I didn't want to accept when they were going to cut Cam instead of letting him ride out his contract, but that's just what it was going to be. Wilks is going to be the head coach and not making that move will set this team back five years as he has the locker room and community support. Those that aren't on board might as well get ready to be angry.
  10. I don't see why people don't understand that losing begets losing and loser mentalities. There is such an obvious difference in the team, that people are literally trying to hate on the possibility of a division championship. I haven't asked this question because it is highly irrelevant as far as the present is concerned, but what if Wilks would've had the team all year? Maybe we aren't backing into the division and would've got three to four other wins.
  11. The good practice competition that wasn't present whatsoever with the Rhule regime was the basis for most of this interview. I think of Rhule trying to show DL drill and breaking his glasses. What a nincompoop.
  12. Tell the O-line to be super cautious about getting their hands outside of the shoulder pads. I can see them licking their chops to call one of those gashing runs back on a phantom holding call.
  13. Again, you're being dismissive and showing inability to look past surface. I compared him to Rhule, Hackett, McVay, and Steichen. And again, you are proving my point.
  14. And it would be his second stint at HC. He's learned some things and he has done this while allowing the OC to totally control the other side of the ball. People that don't want to take into account the things that Wilks has done this season flat out don't know football. I can see if you don't want him as HC, but certain people on this board don't even acknowledge the strides he has made with the same players. Rhule being the hot name for HC and given an insane contract were fine, but giving Wilks a shot is complete nonsense to many on here and social media too. That's why a derogatory, dismissive statement like "being better than Rhule shouldn't be the measuring stick for Wilks" should be addressed. Rhule is the kind of guy that gets hired over more seasoned, experienced, and better leaders of men constantly. They are given the keys to the kingdom over and over. For every McVay, there is a Hackett. Wilks has outperformed Rhule, Hackett, and many other coaches with the talent he has since getting the interim tag. And it matters, because people are wanting to bypass him to go hire yet another unproven, barely heard of OC who has had their share of hiccups in coaching. I'm with Snow, at least give the guy credit for what he has done with what was a jack ass festival before taking over.
  15. What's funny is do you remember the throw he made back across the field during his pro day that everyone climaxed over? He tried that on Thursday in a real game and it promptly got intercepted!
  16. I had this same back and forth with a dude two weeks ago. He was like yeah, I would cause at my job they know me and I won't stand for......Sure buddy, your job is comparable to an NFL gm. It was like arguing with a child still in the stage of development where they believe people stop existing when they go out of the room.
  17. In another thread seasoned posters were talking about how we were outclassed, out this, and out that. I was like what are they supposed to do with this Rhule built roster and his raggedy retread QB train. Crickets..........
  18. Pie for talking football and the lack of talent on the roster. I am a big Wilks fan as a candidate. I really like Shan Steichen as well. I just hate a bunch of emotional, dismissive posting without anything to back it up.
  19. They don't want to see the adjustments because they want to solidify the anti Wilks narrative. They ran man to man and were beat on a couple of throws. Then they went zone and our lack of talent showed up as players made some plays and others they didn't. All kinds of adjustments were made and people that don't know football are just being dismissive. This is a Rhule(college coach with only experience being 1 year as assistant OL coach) built roster and the fact they are coached up to at least be competitive is a feat in itself.
  20. The thing that surprises me the most about you old school posters is your posting is still so much about raw emotion and so little about football. I was disappointed yesterday in the loss, but this should not be a end all be all to your thoughts on Steve Wilks. He has made this team somewhat respectable this last 65% of the season. Did he inherit some new players since he took over? No, he didn't. Yes, they beat Seattle last week in somewhat convincing fashion. But, this team is still the same team that is massively devoid of talent at these positions, DE, DT, CB, TE, OLB, and quarterback! Everyone is shitting on the gameplan, but what are they supposed to do? Explain to me what they are supposed to do to not struggle to get outperformed the rest of the year with Sam Darnold(backup PJ) and the rest of the Rhule roster. Also, let's not forget he also inherited a OC that was peeled off the scrap heap because no one wanted to work with Rhule! What is there to do but try and run so the game is not solely on Darnold? As far as the game went, seriously they tried to run. The Steelers stacked the box. They passed and Darnold did ok, but it was still Sam Darnold. He missed wide open throws and navigated the pocket like cat with mittens on a glass table. On defense they ran press man and Keith Taylor got beat on a prayer throw in the first half. They then went zone and the players still struggled because the roster needs more talent. Adjustments were made and players played to the best of their ability and they still got beat is what I saw. Let's be honest, Wilks was never supposed to have this good of a showing and garner this kind of support. It would have looked bad to immediately come out and be negative about Wilks. But some did it anyway and called it common sense while they did it. So after not winning out, dropping a game, I know it does feel a bit better to do it now. I'll be honest, other than Shane Steichen, OC for the Eagles, I truly believe Wilks plus a new OC is the best bet for the immediate future.
  21. The Patriots won six titles beating the bums in their division. It was literally six games every year except for the two years the Jets were good and a couple of Bills losses. How can it be a negative to win the games on your schedule? If you are going to argue against the man coaching, at least don't move the goal posts.
  22. Maybe its just something about these A-holes named Matt. Matt Doherty came in to Chapel Hill in the early 2,000s and alienated everyone, fired the team mom, cut out summer games, alienated former players, and wasn't accessible. Rhule came here and tried the same thing. As it did in Chapel Hill, it backfired here too! All of these former players showing up, showing interest, and becoming involved again is a nod to the culture that has been built over the last twenty years. Gross, Delhomme, S. Smith, Luke, G-Reg, T. Davis, Cam, Rucker, and Pep are franchise cornerstones and should always be/feel welcome! I'm glad Tepper is finally seeing this and all the egg on his face was his doing for acting like our culture didn't exist. The vibe that Wilks has brewing now and all the support shows how wrong our owner was.
  23. Colin Cowherd said we were the best team in the NFC South. It just blew my mind to hear anyone anywhere call the Panthers the best at anything.
  24. I can definitely understand that. But, look how those guys are mortgaging their future to win now on both sides of the ball. Those two teams have traded more picks to get draft position and players than almost anyone in the last five years.
