He will be 33 in July, Not sure it would be wise to invest in a long term contract on a player that old. He is still productive but for most players age equates with more frequent injuries.

Would definitely seem opposite to what the organization is currently doing.  I know we grabbed vets (i.e. Cotchery) but he is a piece of the puzzle whereas Johnson would likely be viewed as a star and be paid as such.  I dont think this would work based on our current trajectory.  I truly believe we want to create the future stars of the league rather than depend on those that have already achieved that status.

Just don't think that D.G wants a player with a little age and one that could be a "distraction" as far as grooming K.B. ( the future #1 reciever). He already signed vets to mentor the young guys.A.J. Would just bitch and cause waves if he wasn't getting the ball to his liking. Not productive for the WR corps or the locker room...won't happen. You should all know how D.G operates by now....he doesn't like to sign high priced guys that cause any problems or have shown a history of riffs with contracts, etc. Besides if he is unhappy with the scratch he is getting now,he will never be happy here,,,even if we had the money or a GM willing o do it.

    • As the demand for apartments grows parking is becoming limited and it’s sad. I use to tailgate but I just park at uncc deck now and train in and head to rhino market. My tailgate grill hates me.
    • It simply depends on perspective. CMC, when healthy and on the field, has a higher YPC and YPR than LT. Yes, he's been injury prone, but this is simply a "all quarter-century team." There are certainly different stats and different lists. If this were a list or about a team simply based on longevity, then of course LT wins that every time, but some lists are more subjective and nuanced depending upon what they are, and it's not necessarily a reflection upon a person's ability to analyze sports.
    • From my what I have seen the overwhelming majority of people who are considering the notion a possibility don't really want to see it happen but are considering so for a number of reasons. Most importantly availability. Secondly even when he plays the last few seasons he has been red hot or ice cold. Then there is the subject of his defense which to say the least leaves a lot to be desired. Then there is the image of Ball inactive laughing it up on the sideline (while our team was getting the doors blown off) with previous busts who are now relegated to hanging on by a thread in the g league. I think we should be able to recognize with the team going out of their way to put a very strong emphasis on culture and leadership with the conclusion of this years draft that they expect LaMelo to lead the way this upcoming season and that begins with making significant strides and trending in a positive direction in the aforementioned aspects above. It just has to happen.
