Jordan Wants To Add Superstar

Kevin Love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Dag, just found out his opt out year is in 2015.  Oh well, hopefully if he plays out this upcoming season and become a free agent the following year, the Hornets will be a team he looks favorably on)

I wouldn't mind Melo but as others said, he doesn't play defense at all. (yeah I know we need offense). Are there any other players that we are interested in that will make a difference? If Lance Stephenson can have a change of heart, I think he would be a good fit but those antics would have to go. I understand mind games in basketball but goodness lol

People complains about Melo, but wants Kevin Love. Love is worst!! Never been in the playoffs, injury proned, and doesn't even know what defense is. At least, Melo won some in Denver.

You are right about that! That being said, I wouldn't mind Melo on this team.

If Melo actually agrees to come here (very unlikely), I would absolutely embrace that.  Not because I particularly like the player he has been over the past few seasons, but because signing in Charlotte would show that he has changed and matured as a player.

When he pushed for a trade to the Knicks he wasnt concerned about winning basketball games and competing in the playoffs, he just wanted to play the role of a superstar in a big market.  People gave Lebron poo for going to Miami, but at least he was trying to win titles.  Melo's decision was primarily about lifestyle over basketball, and by leaving New York (and the extra money the Knicks can offer) he could prove that he has completely different priorities at this point in his career.

Its definitely a long shot for him to sign here, but this is a career defining moment for Melo.  I dont think he can be taken seriously as a truly competitive player if he re-signs with the Knicks

Per espn.

This season Carmelo scored 2112 pts on 1643 fg's.  subtract his 459 ft's and that drops to 1653 pts.   barely a point per shot.   Yes he scores but its not very efficient.  That is also with his 3pt fg's.

Just to be fair.  Without free throws Jefferson scored 1403 pts on 1376 fg's, so his stats aren't stellar either, but considered he shot 15 threes all season to Melo's 415 and had a 50% fg percentage to melo's 45%.  You get the point.

Stupid stat IMO. Why would you cut out FTs as points? Comparing it to football for a second. I know _________ running back avg 4.5 yards per carry.  But take out his +20 runs and its only 3 yards per carry. Why would you take those carries out? Just like why would you take fts out when they get you points?

Tbh, Chuck is partially right on Love. He does slack off on defense during games. Of course, I would too if I played for the Timberwolves. He's not as bad as Anthony though.

I honestly don't believe Love or Anthony will ever win a title. They're the guys destined to be potential Hall of Famers that never win anything during their careers.

I just say keep the pick, draft Lavine and hope his potential works out and we have our superstar.

The thing is we don't have to give up any of our picks for Melo; can opt out. Would for Love.

Love is a big reason why Minny is so bad defensively. Pekovic helps, but can't do much. Minny is like GSW a few years back. High powered offense, terrible defense. Love is probably the best PF in the league today, but Griffin is nearing if he keeps his Js consistent.

Melo just doesn't "want" to play defense. Love "cannot" play defense no matter how bad he wants to.

    • My biggest fear with Bryce Young is that he will always do just enough to stick around. He shows flashes and then drops a turd so the hopium is always there. Like his career highlight reel if you cut it up to some hype music and did a YouTube video would actually be quite good. His great plays really, really look good. But after that video you look at his yearly averages for completion percentage, yardage, touchdowns, and virtually every other metric and it is meh as fug. Like you know Bryce is gonna be 13/23 for 157 yards a touchdown and probably a pick.  I will 100% give him his flowers for his athleticism and ability to scramble outside the pocket. I haven’t seen the mythical “super processing ability” he was touted for per se, but he has shown flashes of absolutely elite awareness when it comes to scrambling. The little basketball move he does to shake defensive linemen has almost become a signature move. It’s hard to explain but you know it when you see it he stops on a dime and pivots like he is gonna hit a step back jumper and it has gotten him out of a lot of trouble.  I sincerely, truly, as a vocal Bryce HATER, hope that since we are obviously running with him next year the coaching staff actually tailors plays around his strengths. He needs to be in a pure spread IMO. His size is much less of a hindrance when he can play QB in open space. I feel like most of his highlight reel is from scrambles and play action/bootlegs.
    • draft me at 19 a lean mean tackling machine
    • good then help Evero help the Carolina Panthers by investing in the defense ...just saying
