Saints TE Watson 'not worried' about the Panthers

The more the trend keeps up there's also the ever increasing chance the trend changes.

Each team has now one the division title 3 times.

Everyone is on even playing field so I think that never back to back winners is going to see an end soon.

When I watched the show I got the impression that the comment was made "tongue in cheek" However, putting my rational self aside, He is a NO 'taint so fug him!!!!

Go Panthers!!!

Yes, it was clearly a tongue in cheek comment.

Ben Watson is awesome. Avergae TE but owner of one of the greatest effort plays of all time (dude is a freak). A good dude too.

You would think the one team in the NFCS an offensive player wouldn't poke at would be the Panthers. Joke or not, I promise Keek and Co. wont take a comment like that lightly. It'll be mentioned day one of training camp. The Panthers want a repeat.

Well I am sure the defensive coaches of the Saints are not too happy how the Panthers retooled their red zone offense. Then again that is the one improvement all these so called experts do not want to discuss about the Panthers offense.

You thought Jimmy Graham was tough to cover. So, how do you plan to take care of Kelvin Benjamin, Greg Olsen, Marcus Lucas, Jerricho Cotchery, Brandon Williams, and Ed Dickson in the back of the endzone? Oh and while you are trying to figure that out realize you cannot cheat up on Cam and the running game in the red zone anymore. A healthy Jonathan Stewart with Mike Tolbert, and more running room for Cam Newton as he has larger targets in the red zone while he scrambles.

Yeah not worried at all I am sure. Oh, and another note, we have Roman Harper who just so happens to be old and very smart. What do you think happens when Roman Harper starts feeding Kuechly with all that wonderful information Harper has in his head about the Saints. Kuechly will know what Brees and company will be doing before they even snap the ball. Go see what Kuechly did to the Giants last season after getting every bit of information from Chase Blackburn about that Giants offense. Not to mention Kuechly figured out Brees and Graham last season as his record breaking game demonstrated for all to see as it put the Panthers in the driver seat of the NFC South and placed Kuechly as DPOY.

Who would be worried about any of that? The Panthers two key secondary additions just happen to be key players on the Falcons and Saints. I am sure that had nothing to do with why the Panthers went after them in free agency,

Answer me this Watson: Who will the Saints cover Kelvin Benjamin with one on one in the red zone?

    • I wouldn't be opposed to trading for Sanders and seeing if he could be developed here. We have zero plans, and I really don't think it would take Sanders long to produce more than Bryce has. Plus, he's on a 5th round rookie contract and if he became the guy, you instantly have three years to build a core of talent, much of which we already have.  I get flamed for this opinion but it is what it is, and I've been right about these type of things the past three years.  I said Nix would be a good NFL QB. Wanted to keep Darnold and trade down in 2023. Said QB play wasn't the QB's fault under Rhule, but rather the offensive design.  Give me Sanders in the room for a year with Bryce and Dalton, see what he can develop in to on the cheap. There are no really quality QB's coming out this year that aren't Allar or Manning, and Manning may not even be coming out.
    • basically if the panthers trade Thielen they're not trying to win this year. I mean they're not going to regardless but this means its the plan not to.  no team is going into the season in 2025 with 80 career catches between their top 3 healthy WR.  you'd be turning this from a bottom 3rd of the league offense to like the nathan peterman bills pair that with a defense that is most likely going to struggle, and they're looking at 2001 again.
