I remember the derision and snark getting tossed around when Fozzy was signed after we lost Gaffney to injury and Waivers.... Now it looks like a calculated pickup of a promising player. So I gotta believe Barner is taking up a roster spot at this point. I say we just have to move on and focus on something else like the return game.

If Barner is still on the roster after final cuts, it will be the first time i have disagreed with a Gettleman/Rivera decision. I understood the release of Agent 89. i understand the wait concerning the contract of the Kraken. i understood the cap casualties this offseason. and i was willing to be lenient on the theft of Tyler Gaffney since NFL teams utilize the waiver wire all the time. But if this GM and this coach keep Barner over Fozzy, i am going to be pissed.

 

Barner sucks. i hate it for him because from what i hear, he was worked hard to try and improve. but the man just doesnt have it. Fozzy is better. Fozzy might even be better than 31 year old Dlo. Barner is outmatched in every phase of the game and needs to be let go in the first round of cuts. talk about a waste of a damn roster spot.

He had a really nice blitz pickup game 1 on a catch to Olsen. He can do it but his size limits him for sure.

He completely missed a blitz pick up on a corner yesterday. No blaming size on that one. He is gone.

Barner just isn't built to be an NFL RB.  He lacks the mass.

Barner had last year and   has time to be ready to play this year.  He can't run between the tackles due to lack of strength to break away.  He hasn't shown any return plays that gives him a leg up on the compitition .  Fozzy has more strength and Brown is just as fast in the return game.  He has had his chance and maybe he is a better fit somewhere else.
