Kuechly Ranked 4th Best Defender in the League by ESPN

Cam at 52? Ouch. Still don't see why Kaep always gets rated higher than Cam.

Kap gets a lot of credit for playoff victories. Including shredding the packers multiple times IN Green Bay. Media loves him for it

Right, even though the only time Cam has played them he put up 432 in his second game when they were the defending champs.

Right well and we lost that game to on account of 3 of his interceptions and I believe a steve smith fumble.

I didn't say you had to like it, I'm just explaining one of the reasons why Kap gets so much love.

I rank players on what ifs honestly. Like what if I put your ass on the 32nd ranked defense, how would you really do? Would you be as good or how about... look as good as if you were on a top 5 defense

I have to, because although there are some great individuality going on, but its a team sport

Sherman isn't, but Thomas is most certainly. He's the key to that defense.

Oh yeah.  Thomas deserves his ranking.

Thomas/Sherman -  Like with the old Willis/Bowman rankings where they were considered two of the very top defenders in the league ,  one deserves the credit.... and one doesn't.

Thomas is amazing. Best in the league at his position.

I would take PP over Sherman.

I would probably say

1. J.J. Watt

2. Robert Quinn/Earl Thomas

3. Von Miller

4. Luke Kuechly

5. Navorro Bowman

Just noticed how low

Brent Grimes

Thomas Davis

Derick Johnson

and Daryl Washington

were rated, this list is pretty laughable.

    • frank, that ball was very catchable where it hit his hands. I don't even think he bent at waist until after he dropped it. He actually slows his pace to position himself to catch the ball. That will never be a pass I'd blame on the QB.   NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-54-54.mp4
    • https://overthecap.com/position/left-guard   Lewis is the 9th highest paid Left Guard in the league. I bet it was higher when the deal was done two years ago.    https://overthecap.com/position/right-guard Hunt #3 highest Right Guard   There is a tab in the upper left portion of the graphic that allows looking at the different positions.
    • It was a great play, but a better catch than throw. The TE boxes out Moehrig for position. Jumps to catch the ball. Catches it and turns 180 degrees while he's still in the air. Comes down and toe taps to stay in bounds and lunges for the goal post. That first part where he boxes out Moehrig for the ball is huge. If he doesn't do that and simply fades back to catch the ball (this is why Bryce doesn't trust XL), then Moehrig likely undercuts the pass for a break up or INT. Stafford trusts his receivers to make plays for him. Here I slowed it down so you can see it. Great play but amazing catch and score by the TE.  NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-45-32.mp4 NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-44-37.mp4
